Mornings are usually less crowded, allowing you to leisurely explore the luxury boutiques and enjoy personalised service without the hustle and bustle of peak hours (lunchtime onwards).

Bellissima Nails has been around for three decades, so I was quite sure my digits were in good hands here. It helps that the interiors are cosy and cute, too.
Its menu includes unisex manicures, pedicures, paraffin wax treatments, and a variety of nail designs like cat eye gel effect, acrylic nails, classic French white tips, glitter tips, chrome nails, and ombre effect nails. I couldn’t take my eyes off my nails afterwards.
Get royal grooming at Sultans of Shave

Okay, so my vain kid brother swears by this place. Judging from his after-shave glow, I think he’s onto something.
Sultans of Shave aims to revive the old-era barber experience. Forget rushed shaves and haircuts. It’s all about quality time for the perfect grooming session here.
Its London-trained team of barbers is dedicated to mastering the art of barbery through hands-on experience and engaging conversations with customers and fellow barbers. And its prices aren’t bad, either: a deluxe shave costs around S$40.
Pamper yourself at DrSpa

Have you ever tried DrGL’s skincare? If you have, its aesthetic treatments are a must at DrSpa!
Specifically designed for Asian skin and our climate, the spa offers facial and body treatments. I was sceptical but tried the anti-ageing repair and rejuvenate facial.
It’s amazing! My skin feels refined, radiant, and glowy after just one session.
Bask in natural light at the atrium
— Media from ta.le_architects
The highlight of the Palais Renaissance? It has to be the spacious main atrium, crowned by a steel-framed skylight.
Lined with shops and concierge services, the atrium features stone floor finishes that accentuate the shopping paths.
Bathed in natural light, the space feels luxurious and indulgent (and Instagram-worthy), guiding shoppers seamlessly through their experience.
Where to Eat and Drink
Ishinomaki Grill & Sake

Contact: +6567371065
Hours: Daily, 11.30 AM–3 PM and 6–10 PM
Price: $$$
Ishinomaki Grill & Sake offers a casual dining concept, though expect to shell out more money here than the usual Japanese eatery. It serves authentic kushiyaki (grilled skewers), sushi, and sashimi paired with premium sake.
Named after Ishinomaki city in Japan, known for its top fishing grounds, the restaurant sources fresh ingredients primarily from there.
The ambience varies across its three sections: classic izakaya (tavern) style, teppanyaki and grill counter, and a spacious open bar counter with private rooms.
Binary
Address: Floor 1F, 390 Orchard Rd, #01-01A Palais Renaissance, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6593630101
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.30 AM–10.30 PM; Saturday to Sunday, 9 AM–10.30 PM
Price: $$
Binary offers a unique blend of Asian and Western cuisine, inspired by the concept of binary stars.
Case in point: if you’re in the mood for chicken wings, you can choose between the Western-style buffalo wings and the Asian-style wings typically served in nasi lemak.
The octopus dish I ordered showcased elevated flavours, with the perfectly cooked cephalopod retaining its chewy texture.
Prefer a Western-style dish? Opt for the octopus in pesto alla Genovese instead.
The Writing Club
Address: Floor 2 Palais Renaissance, 390 Orchard Rd, #02 – 10, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6593628626
Hours: Monday to Saturday, 4 PM-midnight
Price: $$
Picture leather armchairs, Chesterfield sofas, and dark wood panels. The Writing Club is like a cosy study or living room but with shelves stocked with whisky instead of old books.
It proudly wears its name with a crest on the wall, evoking a sense of exclusivity.
There’s an impressive selection catering to all budgets, including Mortlachs and Glendronachs, covering commercial to special releases. The bartender is also a whisky expert, knowledgeable about bottles from independent bottlers.
French Fold
Address: Floor 1F Palais Renaissance, 390 Orchard Rd, #01-02, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6569083962
Hours: Daily, 8 AM–11 PM
Price: $$
French Fold offers a rustic, minimalist space with seating for 65 guests, blending wood and earthy tones. But when it’s nice out, we often opt for outdoor seating for prime people-watching along Orchard Road.
Its galettes, or flat cakes made with buckwheat flour and organic eggs, feature 17 varieties on the menu. We especially love locally inspired flavours like No.11’s yellow curry with sautéed shrimp.
There are also vegetarian options like the No.13, made with Impossible Bolognese, tomato chutney, parmesan, and a sunny-side-up egg.
PS.Cafe
Address: Floor 2 Palais Renaissance, 390 Orchard Rd, #02 – 09A, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6567089288
Hours: Daily, 11 AM–10 PM
Price: $$$
PS.Cafe nails Singapore’s Garden City aspirations, which you’ll notice as soon as you step in. Not bad for a brunch date, and it’s kid-friendly, too!
Don’t miss its truffle shoestring fries—loaded with grated parmesan and parsley, tossed in truffle oil, and served in a generous portion perfect for sharing.
The Palais Renaissance outlet also offers a special junior menu for kids 12 and below, with each dish accompanied by a bowl of ice cream with chocolate or strawberry sauce.
Merci Marcel
Address: Floor 1F, 390 Orchard Road, 01-03 Palais Renaissance, 390 Orchard Rd, #01 – 03 / 04, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6567352608
Hours: Daily, 8 AM–midnight
Price: $$
For a taste of dining abroad, Merci Marcel is the go-to spot. The Palais Renaissance outlet boasts tropical motifs, arch windows, a wine wall, and a mix of vintage and modern furniture.
If you want something light and refreshing, I highly recommend the barramundi (Southeast Asian fish) tartare, perfect for solo indulgence or sharing.
The fresh and artfully plated barramundi pairs beautifully with avocado and pickled red onion, with a hint of lime juice.
Shatoburian
Address: Floor 2 Palais Renaissance, 390 Orchard Rd, #02 – 08, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6569043308
Hours: Monday to Saturday, noon–2.30 PM and 6–10 PM
Price: $$$
Shatoburian may have a simple shop front, but you can’t miss it with its striking sake barrels. The name cleverly plays on ‘chateaubriand,’ a prime Wagyu cut.
Sustainability is key here. Its Wagyu comes from Gifu Prefecture, and the restaurant uses the nose-to-tail method, offering all cuts on the menu. With confidence in its meat quality, the staff keep seasoning minimal.
Don’t miss Shatoburian’s prized cut, the chateaubriand, a soft 120-gram portion of the best tenderloin you’ll have in a long while.
Siam Smith
Address: Floor 1F, 390 Orchard Road #01-01 Palais Renaissance, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6562358901
Hours: Monday to Friday, 11.30 AM–10 PM; Saturday to Sunday, 11 AM–10 PM
Price: $$
In the mood for noods? I can’t recommend Siam Smith’s signature beef noodles enough!
It features tender beef slices, meatballs, and tripe in a rich, savoury broth. I was told it’s from a family recipe simmered for hours with spices and herbs, so the broth ends up packing a flavourful punch.
Caviar
Address: Floor B1, 390 Orchard Rd Palais Renaissance, B1, #07, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6598881217
Hours: Tuesday to noon–3 PM and 6–10.30 PM
Price: $$$
Caviar is Singapore’s very first caviar-focused restaurant offering a modern European dining experience with the finest caviar sourced from around the world—France, Italy, Russia, Uruguay, Japan, China—you name it!
With only 28 seats, it’s cosy at Palais Renaissance. You’ve got options: pick your caviar per 30 grams (varying prices), or dive into the five or nine-course lunch and dinner menus.
Don’t miss the botan ebi—a prawn tartare topped with water chestnut slices and two types of caviar, Kaluga Kaluga and Kaluga Queen (both from the Amur River sturgeon).
Cakebar
Address: Floor 1F Palais Renaissance, 390 Orchard Rd, #01-07A, Singapore 238871 (Google Maps)
Contact: +6593804026
Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 9 AM–9 PM; Friday to Saturday, 9 AM–10 PM
Price: $$
In a cosy corner of Palais Renaissance lies a charming bakery with fairy tale vibes—soft lighting and pastel hues. With French and Japanese influences, its team meticulously designs and bakes every cake from scratch in-house.
Take, for example, its caramel mixed nuts beer cake—an alcohol-infused delight featuring Guinness.
The moist sponge layers are complemented by a hint of alcohol, adding a subtle bitterness without overshadowing the sweetness that defines a perfect cake.

You have to check out LuxCollate. My Tai Tai aunties swear by it!
It’s a luxury bag shop that buys, sells, and consigns designer bags and luggage like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, and more.
According to them, it’s the perfect spot to sell bags you don’t use anymore and declutter your collection. They say payment is swift compared to other consignment experiences.
Honestly, half the fun is rummaging through the shop’s heaps of bags and uncovering rare limited editions or hidden gems.

Mouawad has a solid selection of fine jewellery, including diamonds, gemstones, and watches. I honestly think it has more variety and unique pieces than Singapore’s Tiffany’s or Cartier.
Think untreated emerald, sapphire, ruby, pink sapphire, and coloured diamond earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. Plus, I appreciate the straightforward service without having to navigate through crowds of tourists.
