Singapore’s love affair with seafood dates back centuries, thanks to its strategic location as a maritime hub. Our bustling city-state is a seafood lover’s paradise, boasting a range of buffets that promise fresh, mouth-watering delicacies from the ocean.

I should know; I’m what you might call a die-hard “sea-foodie,” so I know a thing or two about where to get yummy, unlimited prawns, crabs, and oysters. So allow me to take you on a mouthwatering tour of the top seafood buffets on the island!

Carousel offers a halal buffet that keeps me coming back for more. Here, I can enjoy free-flowing lobsters, oysters, sashimi (salmon, tuna, and swordfish), smoked salmon, whole cooked salmon, fish stew, prawns, and crayfish.

The wide variety and quick food replenishment make it a must for seafood lovers like me. Plus, the dessert selection is drool-worthy, with a variety of ice cream flavours, cakes, tarts, and pastries up for grabs.

Pro-tip: For non-drivers, the Orchard MRT station is conveniently located just a 5 to 10-minute walk from the hotel.

My family loves Colony for its flawless service and fresh seafood. The waitstaff provides gloves, wet wipes, and crab scissors without us asking, making us feel like pampered royalty.

Besides the usual dinner buffet items like oysters and king crab legs, there are also hot dishes such as lobster and various crabs. The variety of oysters, colourful Japanese food stations, and enticing cooked food stations make it hard to choose where to start.

Pro-tip: There’s complimentary parking for diners.

At Ginger, my favourites are the lobster claws in chilli crab gravy and prawns in herbal soup due to their freshness and flavour. The sashimi and steamed fish are also must-tries, although top-ups for those could be a bit faster.

The light-filled interiors made dining extra enjoyable, complementing the great array of fresh and cooked seafood. I also enjoyed the chef expertly creating beautiful fish cuts for the diners.

Pro-tip: Fresh fruit, coffee, and tea are included in the buffet.

You can enjoy a seafood buffet at Royal Palm, either in a cosy indoor setting or by the pool for fresh air. I love its fresh seafood on ice for the presentation and taste.

The huge prawns, soft shell crab, and salmon fish head curry are must-tries here. The chilli crab took some getting used to, as the gravy is sweeter than the usual version, but it’s still quite good.

Plus, there’s a variety of cakes, pastries, macaroons, ice creams, pasta, and kid-friendly dishes for little diners.

Pro-tip: The location is convenient with a free shuttle service between Yishun MRT and Royal Palm every 15 minutes.

Finding a lobster-focused seafood buffet in Singapore is tough, but Oscar’s comes close. Besides the seafood buffet, I love its outdoor BBQ with grilled lobster and live stations which allow me to chow down on my favourite crustacean.

Don’t pass up on heaping your plates with plump oysters and fresh sashimi here, as well!

Some days, Oscar’s can get crowded with diners, but its high ceiling makes conversations still pleasant.

Pro-tip: Try the Royal chocolate cake with its three layers and a crunchy base, offering varied textures.

PARKROYAL’s Lime Restaurant’s cosy ambience always invites me to stay longer. The lobster buffet is outstanding, featuring grilled lobster with cheese, lobster Thermidor, and lobsters in various sauces.

The oysters were incredibly fresh, gliding down the throat instantly. The chef shucked them on the spot, ensuring they weren’t left out in the open.

The service was impeccable, with quick plate replenishment and excellent food hygiene.

Pro-tip: From Clarke Quay Station, walk to the PARKROYAL Hotel via Exit A, or from Chinatown Station, cut through Chinatown Point Mall via Exit E or G.

J65 is a haven for lobster fanatics, with fresh and tasty dishes like lobster in percik (coconut-based Malaysian sauce) and lobster Thermidor. I recommend the percik, as it has this piquant, fragrant aroma and taste.

While oysters and mussels are available, lobsters dominate. Each diner also gets lobster vermicelli with their meal!

Also check out the fresh seafood counter, especially its thick and tender salmon sashimi.

Pro-tip: It’s a halal buffet as well, so you can take Muslim friends and family here!

The Astor Grill offers the Wonders of the Sea seafood dinner buffet, which promises a globally sourced seafood experience. We’re talking about Indo-Pacific poached prawns, Boston lobsters, and king crabs from Alaska.

If you prefer your seafood grilled, check out this posh restaurant’s Vulcan stone and charcoal-powered grill that churns out delectable smoked delights from the sea. You can elevate the taste with some house-made sauces (I recommend the indulgent caviar one!).

the kitchen table offers both cold seafood and a BBQ grill, giving you the best of both worlds. What I do here is first enjoy fresh sashimi and seafood, then head to the grill station for deliciously grilled shrimp and other treats.

The seafood paella is also a highlight. On Sundays, the restaurant serves lobster on ice, but you can request it grilled if you prefer.

Pro-tip: Call ahead to check if they have cooked lobster available before you go.

At Mitsuba, I get to enjoy thick and fresh sashimi in a sleek setting. Its chawanmushi (savoury egg custard) with salmon roe is a must-try and something I will always recommend to friends.

The mentaiko (fish roe) scallops are worth checking out, as well as most of the grilled and deep-fried seafood items.

Do check out its weekend buffet lunches, as three paying adults can have a fourth diner eat for free! The place has a non-fuss ordering system, as well: simply scan the QR code to place an order.

Pro-tip: You get one complimentary dish from the premium buffet section during weekend buffet lunches.

Cheese on seafood? I say, absolutely! Crossroads Buffet generously douses crabs and lobsters in a cheesy sauce.

Its unique station lets you cook fresh seafood with side dishes in a bucket, which I found strangely exhilarating. It’s like cooking what you caught yourself!

There’s also a corner for flavoured salmon sashimi, perfect with rice like salmon donburi. But I focused on the fresh seafood and salad area, skipping most of the cooked food.

Pro-tip: If you love soft shell crabs, Crossroads does a delightful Sunday Champagne brunch with them along with a sashimi live station.

The Line Restaurant offers excellent salmon sashimi. I’m encouraged enough to always ask for fatty salmon belly at the sashimi counter (which they graciously provide).

For crustacean lovers, the fresh lobster with spicy lime sauce here is particularly succulent. Free-flow lobsters are expectedly popular items but also try the foie gras that’s perfectly seared and balanced with brioche.

The staff is very attentive, clearing plates quickly and even replacing shell plates promptly. I like this.

Pro-tip: Expect a complimentary small birthday cake when dining here on your special day.
