The Best Vegetarian Restaurants on Orchard Road That Have Won Me Over (and I’m Not Even a Vegetarian!)

I’m not a vegetarian (I love fried chicken too much to give it up), but I do have friends who are, so when we go out, we make sure to dine at restaurants that are vegetarian-friendly. And I have to admit: vegetarian dishes are actually delicious!

Orchard Road is one of our go-to hangouts (we love to shop!), so we’ve also tried several vegetarian restaurants there. So far, these are my faves!

Real Food

Address: 181 Orchard Rd, #02-16 to 19

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 9 pm

Contact Number: +6591380141

Website

If you love a good brunch or breakfast, then you should check out Real Food. The menu here is filled with items that are delicious and nutritious at the same time.

I personally recommend the sweet pumpkin pancakes because I have a sweet tooth. The pancakes are soft with a bit of crispy edges, and the berry coulis and fresh seasonal fruits on the side add a nice fruity sweetness to every bite.

If you don’t like sweet things, then I recommend the English muffin with scrambled eggs. I like to spread a bit of butter on the muffin and then top it with the spinach, mushrooms, and eggs for a satisfying dish.

Pro Tip:

  • This spot sells Real Easy Kits, which are fresh artisanal bakes with housemade sauce and jams. These are perfect if you don’t have time to make an elaborate breakfast at home.

LingZhi Vegetarian

Address: 541 Orchard Rd, #05-01 Liat Towers

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 3 pm, 6 to 10 pm

Contact Number: +6567343788

Website

LingZhi Vegetarian is the restaurant to go to if you’re craving Chinese cuisine. What I like most about this Chinese restaurant is that they use premium organic produce as protein sources. No mock meats are allowed here!

I love starting my meals with the Firecracker Monkey Head Mushroom. The mushrooms are marinated for a long time, so the savory flavors seep deep down, and then they are stir-fried to crispy perfection. They’re mixed with dried chili as well, so they’re very spicy!

For the main course, I always opt for the deep-fried black truffle mushroom. The exterior of the bun is crispy, but the inside is soft and chewy. Plus, the mushroom filling tastes savory and earthy, and I love dipping it into the chili sauce for a kick of heat.

Pro Tip:

  • This restaurant also has a buffet for lunch and dinner! This is perfect if you’re dining with a group or you’re feeling so hungry you can eat a horse.

Joie Restaurant

Address: 181 Orchard Rd, #12 – 01

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—12 to 3 pm, 6 to 10 pm

Contact Number: +6596630901

Website

The first time I stepped inside Joie Restaurant, my jaw dropped. The whole place was just oozing with elegance, and since there were floor-to-ceiling glass windows, natural light brightened the interior!

Aside from the fancy vibes, this restaurant boasts an amazing menu of meatless specialties. I like coming here for dinner, and my favorite thing to order is the truffle risotto. It’s so creamy, and thanks to the black truffle, it has strong earthy notes as well.

If you can afford to splurge a bit, be sure to try their tasting menu. It’s a prix fixe multi-course meal that’s inspired by Korean cuisine. I haven’t tried this myself, but I’ve heard you’ll get to enjoy dishes like buckwheat noodles and pumpkin rice soup.

  • Planning a party with your loved ones? You can book their private rooms

D’Life Orchard Gateway

Address: 277 Orchard Rd, #B2-04A/05 Orchard Gateway

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11:30 am to 9:30 pm

Contact Number: +6569700506

Website

If you’re in Orchard Gateway, one of the best shopping malls along Orchard Road, be sure to stop by D’Life. This restaurant has many options on the menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian), so you might feel overwhelmed like I was during my first visit.

I usually go for the tofu dishes. My favorite is the Sambal Petai Tofu because I love how soft and silky the tofu is, and the sauce adds a wonderful spicy-savory symphony with every spoonful.

I also love getting the noodle dishes here, especially when it’s raining outside. I recommend the Penang Asam Laksa. The broth is herby and tangy, with a hint of spice, and the tofu pieces soak up the broth well, so they explode with flavor every time.

Pro Tip:

  • If you don’t know which dishes to order, you might want to check the restaurant’s recommended dishes. These are their bestsellers!

VeganPho

— From: zehbeehoon

Address: 304 Orchard Rd, Level 1 inside BaoBao Food Court, Lucky Plaza

Operating Hours

  • Sunday to Thursday—10 am to 11:30 pm
  • Friday and Saturday—10 am to 1 am

Contact Number: +6588043494

Another great, underrated spot located inside a mall is VeganPho. This is a stall in the BaoBao Food Court, and it’s kind of hard to spot because there’s no signage. Just simply ask the other stalls in the food court, and they can point you in the right direction.

I’ve always been a fan of Vietnamese pho, so it’s not a surprise I love the pho here (even without the meat). The broth is rich and savory, and the tofu and beancurd absorb all the flavors, which is why I love biting into them.

I also like their version of chicken rice. The fake chicken does taste like the real thing, and the sauce is packed with savory-spicy flavors. I always order this dish together with the pho for a more filling meal.

Pro Tip:

  • If you don’t want any alliums (garlic, onions, leeks, chives, scallions, and shallots) in your dish, you can tell the cook to avoid putting them.

Privé Paragon

Address: 290 Orchard Rd, #01-37 Paragon Shopping Centre

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—8 am to 11 pm

Contact Number: +6567760777

Website

Privé Paragon has a chic and warm environment, which is why my friends and I love coming here. It also helps that this restaurant features classic Singapore dishes but with a vegan/vegetarian twist!

I enjoy their take on the Hainanese chicken rice. The “chicken” is soy-based, and it soaks up the savory goodness from the vegetable broth. The rice is fluffy and fragrant (you can choose between white and brown rice), and house-made chili packs quite a punch.

Another one of my favorite dishes here is the fusilli with nori pesto and mushrooms. The pasta noodles are perfectly al dente, and I love how chewy and tasty the mushrooms (enoki, shimeji, and king oyster) are.

If you love sweet treats, you should get the sticky date pudding. The caramel is made of palm sugar, so it has notes of butterscotch flavor. The walnuts also add a lovely crunch.

  • This restaurant often hosts limited-time promotions like discounts and monthly specials. Check this page to see what promotions are currently active.

Vegetarian Restaurants Nearby Orchard

Kang Su Vegetarian

Address: 14 Scotts Rd, #05-98 Far East Plaza

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 9 pm

Contact Number: +6597358082

Facebook

Kang Su Vegetarian is such an underrated gem inside Far East Plaza. If you come across it during your visit, I recommend giving it a try!

I always get the kolo mee, a dish made of dry noodles tossed with vegetables, mock meat, and fried beancurd. The mock meat tastes so much like the real thing that for a second, I forget I’m eating a vegetarian dish. I also like to add chili sauce for more spice.

I’m also a big fan of the udon here. The broth is wonderfully peppery, and just like with the kolo mee, I also add a few drops of chili sauce to make it even spicier.

Pro Tip:

  • There are not that many seats here, so I recommend coming earlier (and avoiding peak hours, which are usually lunch and dinner time).

The Kind Bowl

Address: 71 Killiney Rd

Operating Hours

  • Monday to Thursday—11:30 am to 2:30 pm, 5:30 to 9:30 pm
  • Friday to Sunday—11:30 am to 9:30 pm

Contact Number: +6597117572

Website

What I love about The Kind Bowl is that they always plate their dishes so well that sometimes, I actually feel bad when I have to eat. But that feeling of guilt doesn’t last long because the food is so tasty that I forget about it.

I love getting the Saigon Delight, which is their version of the Vietnamese sandwich banh mi. The mock meat is glazed with caramelized soy sauce, so it’s savory with a bit of sweetness, and the vegetables add a nice crunch.

If you’re a big fan of spice, you should get the Royal Spicy. It’s a soup with a spicy and earthy broth base, thick and chewy rice vermicelli, and mushrooms and beancurd pieces that absorb all the flavors from the broth!

Pro Tip:

  • This restaurant gets super crowded during dinner time (I’ve noticed that there’s always a line outside), so I recommend coming here earlier instead.
