One of the first things I noticed about 1880 is how it’s decked out with cool conversation starters like the rose quartz-topped reception desk and lounges shaped like jars.
It has everything—a restaurant, bar, outdoor terrace, co-working space, and even a spa. A friend who’s a member usually kicks off her day with yoga, followed by a spa and salon session.
1880 doesn’t hide the fact that it’s for a cosmopolitan audience, though there’s a good mix of industry pros and trailblazers who like cosy conversations over cocktails.

Raffles Town Club is a bit more traditional compared to others in this post, but it’s definitely one of the most impressive social clubs in Singapore. My first visit there was for a small wedding dinner at the Chinese restaurant where the food was excellent.
The ambience was in a class of its own, with a marble-filled interior and unique architecture. Other noteworthy facilities include a 128-seat American-style theatre, a video games room, tennis courts, and even a bowling alley.
On a bittersweet note: Raffles Town Club will operate until October 17, 2026, after which its lease will expire, and the land will be redeveloped for residential use to meet future housing demand.

Located in a three-level shophouse, the club beautifully blends original elements with modern features. There’s also an external mural depicting the club’s pioneers and Chinese revolutionary figure, Sun Yat Sen.

She said it was a safe space for them to hang out with high school friends, and now they look forward to their kids doing the same. In fact, The American Club now has a massive indoor playground spread over four floors!
Families can enjoy fine dining at a variety of restaurants, play squash or tennis, and try the Pilates program with private and group sessions by professional instructors.
Pro-tip: The club has Grillhouse, a casual poolside dining spot perfect for families and swimmers.
