The Best MMA Gyms In Singapore Welcoming Fighters Of Any Level

There are plenty of gyms in Singapore that offer some mixed martial arts on the side, but I’m here to explore those that are dedicated to MMA. This means specialised workouts and a focused equipment selection.

MMA gyms in Singapore are all about coach-led training and partner workouts, with sessions that typically require booking. In short: it’s the real thing if you want to kick some serious butt.

So whether you’re a newcomer eager to explore the art or a seasoned practitioner seeking the perfect training ground, this guide is for you!

At Evolve MMA, I’ve experienced firsthand why it’s considered the world’s premier international gym. Fighters from Brazil, Japan, China, the US, and beyond converge here.

Guided by champion instructors, the daily schedule is packed with Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, and boxing classes from early morning to late at night. This accommodates office-goers like yours truly at our convenience.

The instructors’ wealth of fight experience ensures top-notch training, attracting students of unparalleled skill. (That’s my roundabout way of saying I got my butt kicked by sparring partners but learned a lot in the process.)

Pro-tip: Alternate training days to ensure adequate rest without skipping workouts.

Straight away, I noticed that Onyx Gym isn’t as flashy as some other fitness chains, but it gets the job done. It’s equipped with everything you need: an open space, bags, weights, a BJJ zone, and a Muay Thai ring.

I joined an early evening class and found a variety of skill levels among participants. However, the coaches adeptly adjusted to everyone’s abilities on the spot, which I found impressive and considerate.

During sparring, the instructor observes and corrects your form, explaining the reasoning behind each adjustment and its consequences. But it’s all friendly and helpful stuff, with all questions entertained by the coaches.

Pro-tip: The first class is free so you can test if Onyx is a good fit for you.

My friend highly recommended Impact MMA for its no-nonsense, focused training approach under experienced coaches. He swears it has high-calibre instructors who genuinely care about the student’s progress and well-being.

That said, don’t expect sleek, fancy gym amenities here, as Impact is all about homey and friendly vibes all around. Even the beginner sparring sessions have a fun and chummy feel to them.

I like that the trainers take the time to customise my training plan and prioritise injury prevention. Aside from that, there’s an emphasis on technical progression, which is what I need.

Pro-tip: Shower worry-free before or after training: the gym has clean facilities!

Now this is one fight club whose first rule I’d gladly break because, heck, I want to talk about it!

At Juggernaut Fight Club, I’ve found a wealth of training options and spaces, making it a go-to for serious combat sports enthusiasts like myself.

Its programs accommodate all levels, from beginners to advanced athletes, with offerings including group classes and private sessions.

But what truly sets this gym apart is the inclusion of pro boxers among the trainers. Their precise teaching ensures continual skill improvement.

Here’s some shameless name-dropping: JFC’s owner and head coach is Arvind Lalwani, who also serves as the president of Singapore Fighting Championships and coaches many of Singapore’s top fighters!

Pro-tip: BYO gear: hand wraps, gloves, and shin pads for Muay Thai.

At Prime Fight Gym (PFG), I found Muay Thai classes tailored for both fitness and competitive goals. This is a far cry from fancy gyms that offer a few MMA classes to supplement their money-making menu.

The founder and head coach, Mus, initiated the Internal Affairs Kickboxing Championship to provide aspiring fighters with valuable ring experience. So yeah, rest assured you’re in good hands here!

The sessions are well-structured, with a variety of classes available, and the air-conditioned gym makes workouts more comfortable. If you have injuries and still want to train, the instructors can adjust the sessions accordingly.

Pro-tip: Each week at Prime Fight Gym, expect to hone in on a specific technique, ranging from knees to push kicks to body kicks.

Though it sounds sweet and summery, Pineapple MMA offers Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, no-gi grappling, and boxing classes for the toughest students. Classes start early and end late on weekdays so you can plan your training around your schedule.

Experienced instructors at Pineapple include champions in Muay Thai and BJJ. If you’re familiar with three-time ADCC World Champion Yuri Simões, yep, he teaches here!

While single classes aren’t available, you can try out the gym and teaching style with a trial class before committing to a package.

Pro-tip: A trial fee of S$35 is waived upon membership sign-up on the trial day.

Muay Thai, boxing, and strength and conditioning classes, along with children’s and females-only classes are available at The Ring. The MMA classes cater to all levels.

The studio has this cool urban industrial vibe going on, complete with a “real steel” gym concept and a legit competition boxing ring. And to top it off, there’s an in-house juice bar where you can grab your post-workout refreshments.

I’m not a member (yet), but it’s tempting, as perks like unlimited classes, gym access, discounted personal training, and eligibility for fight competitions are offered.

Pro-tip: Personal training is also available to meet fitness goals effectively.

What first stood out to me about FaMA was the impressive 5,000-square-foot facility—modern, clean, and well-equipped, creating a fun and family-friendly atmosphere.

I decided to bring my little nephews along to try the kids’ martial arts classes, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, based on a friend’s recommendation.

I learned that the curriculum caters to beginners and seasoned athletes alike, ensuring inclusivity across all skill levels. Still, we were glad to take advantage of the free week-long trial before committing to regular classes.

Pro-tip: Located strategically in the Central Business District, it’s easily accessible from Bencoolen, Bras Basah, and Dhoby Ghaut MRT Stations.

BXG offers Muay Thai classes in three levels—basic, intermediate, and advanced. The basic class is perfect for curious beginners, focusing on fundamental punching and kicking techniques to build muscle strength and overall conditioning.

For those serious about Muay Thai and considering competition, BXG’s advanced class includes full-contact sparring. At a little over S$200 a month for unlimited classes, I think it’s a great value if you’re solely interested in Muay Thai training.

This place is a rare gem—a straightforward, decent option that won’t break the bank or lock you into contracts.

Pro-tip: There’s also a personal training program offering a flexible fast track compared to the fixed curriculum of group classes.

Synergy MMA truly lives up to its name by emphasising the power of collaboration for maximum impact. Its goal is to elevate mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu globally, setting the bar high with top-tier teaching standards.

Classes at Synergy MMA follow a systematic approach: you start by learning a technique, delve into its nuances, practise specific drills, and then spar.

This structured lesson plan has been especially beneficial for those, like me, who take time to fully grasp the material.

Pro-tip: Synergy offers an impressive two-week free trial—the longest and most generous I’ve seen in Singapore so far.

I’ve found Stronghold MMA to be a family-friendly gym that takes a university-style approach to training. Each lesson is part of a carefully structured curriculum, ensuring long-term retention and preventing students from feeling overwhelmed.

It’s great news for my nephew who’s interested in MMA. With a focus on safety and inclusivity, the academy welcomes people of all experience levels, fitness levels, genders, and body types to its classes.

I appreciate how the instructors teach techniques for all levels and encourage creativity on the mats, invaluable for individual game development.

At Homeground MMA, the instructors meticulously practise the principles of Muay Thai, boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (both gi and no-gi), and wrestling—both separately and in combination for MMA.

The classes are engaging yet challenging, catering to all skill levels. Plus, the gym facilities are excellent—ample training mats, sturdy punching bags, and a clean shower area.

I highly recommend it if you’re eager to not just work up a sweat, but also to improve your grappling and striking skills with practical drills. There’s also a distinct community vibe here that’s warm and welcoming even when you’re sparring.

Pro-tip: Homeground is conveniently located near Clarke Quay MRT, just a 5-minute walk away.
