The 12 Best Foods in Funan Mall Perfect for Post-Retail Therapy Bites
If you’re in or around Funan Mall and your stomach is starting to rumble, have I got some tasty recommendations for you! This place has a seriously awesome mix of restaurants and food stalls that’ll hit the spot before or after a shopping spree.
From hearty meals to quick snacks, here are the best ones I’ve kept coming back to for years. Let’s dive into these delicious options, shall we?
Sukiya Gyudon & Curry
Address: 107 North Bridge Rd, Funan
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Daily, 10 AM–10 PM
Price: $
I love the curry with gyudon at Sukiya. It’s delicious, not too spicy, and even little diners enjoy it even though it’s not off any kids’ menu.
Ordering is hassle-free and done via QR code so there’s very little wait time between choosing and eating your meal.
The Sukiya beef bowl is perfect for a quick meal with its balanced umami beef sauce. I recommend adding an onsen egg to the rice for elevated flavour and texture.
Pro-tip: The chicken karaage is another must-try—crispy outside, juicy inside.
Tanuki Raw
Address: 107 North Bridge Rd, Funan
Contact: +6592441695
Hours: Daily, 11.30 AM–9.30 PM
Price: $$
Tucked in a corner of a furniture shop in Funan, Tanuki Raw is my go-to spot to relax or chill with drinks after a long work day. The oysters, though pricey, are fresh so I order them when I’m feeling extra-indulgent.
I’d also recommend trying the truffle yakiniku featuring perfectly cooked, tender ribs. The sauce is well-mixed with the rice, preserving its appearance so you can take many Instagram-worthy pics before wolfing it down.
Service comes with a free cold flask of water, which is great for muggy days.
Pro-tip: There’s a daily happy hour between 3 and 8 PM when you can order discounted drinks and pay S$ per oyster!
CHAGEE
Address: 107 North Bridge Rd, Funan
Contact: +6588997675
Hours: Daily, 11 AM–9.30 PM
Price: $$
I love bubble tea but had to cut back on sugar. Then I found CHAGEE, which has a lower default sweetness, so I’m back with a tea vengeance, baby!
My favourite drink here is the Dao Hong Pao latte—fragrant and strong tea perfectly blended with milk. It’s the perfect drink to sip when I’m strolling and window shopping inside the mall.
There are occasional queues here but not often and not too long that you’d give up and walk away tea-less.
Pro-tip: Ask the friendly staff for recommendations if you’re feeling overwhelmed with the choices.
Godmama
Address: 107 North Bridge Rd
Contact: +6569700828
Hours: Daily, 10 AM–10 PM
Price: $$
My family loves Godmama for special celebrations and authentic Peranakan food. They offer a delightful fusion of traditional flavours and modern twists.
The blue pea rice is tasty and healthy, and our favourites are the tender babi pongteh (braised pork belly and potatoes) and the coconut-infused sayur lodeh (mixed, spiced veggies).
If you’re feeling bold about desserts, try the durian creme brulee, which is really good.
Pro-tip: It’s best to make a reservation, especially on Sundays, as it’s usually packed.
Kazo
Address: 107 North Bridge Rd, Funan
Contact: +6565303552
Hours: Daily, 10 AM–9.30 PM
Price: $
Kazo’s pastries are perfectly crisp and crunchy when fresh. However, they lose some freshness after an hour, so best to eat them as soon as they’re handed to you (no takeaways for this treat!).
The cream Kazo Kazu is my favourite. The puff is crunchy, and the cream is super tasty without being overwhelmingly jelak. Overall, though, the puffs’ sweetness level here is just right, so you won’t feel too guilty.
Pro-tip: If you’re a fan of durian, try the durian puff with its fresh filling.
Churros Republic
Address: 109 North Bridge Rd
Contact: +6588094134
Hours:
Sunday to Thursday, 12.30–9 PM
Friday to Saturday, 12.30–9.30 PM
Price: $
I thought all churros were the same until I found Churros Republic. The shop offers a wide variety of flavours, with churros always warm and crispy outside and soft inside.
The selection of dipping sauces is a nice touch, and portions are generous enough for sharing. It’s perfect for sweet cravings. The lemon meringue churros are my favourite along with butterscotch dip (don’t yuck on my yum, it’s quite good!).
Pro-tip: Sauces are sold separately at 80 cents each.
Delibowl Express
Address: 107 North Bridge Road, Funan
Contact: +6588131577
Hours: Daily, 11 AM–9.30 PM
Price: $
When I’m in the area during the lunch hour, Delibowl Express is my go-to for one great reason: the items are cooked fresh, not pre-made. It’s the next best thing to my mom’s cooking.
The Sichuan-style eggplant is a must-try. You’ll get a large bowl of fragrant, non-spicy eggplant in mala (Sichuan spice) sauce with rice for under S$12!
Do be careful about the spicier dishes, as the mala flavour can get really numbing.
Pro-tip: There’s not a lot of seating, so try to get there before noon to avoid the lunch crowd.
The Dark Gallery
Address: Funan Mall, 107 North Bridge Rd
Contact: +6569084086
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 11 AM–9 PM
Saturday to Sunday, 11 AM–9.30 PM
Price: $$
I know there are several dessert options here, but you can’t miss The Dark Gallery’s signature dark chocolate cake. It’s an indulgence you must try—rich but not overly sinful due to the dark chocolate. Just trust me and order it!
The shops offer around four types of dark chocolate ice cream, ranging from 70–90% cocoa. The macarons are also great gift ideas, especially since they come in a variety of pleasing hues.
Pro-tip: The espresso at this shop is good and strong, so get it if you need a midday pick-me-upper.
PPP Coffee
Address: 107 North Bridge Rd
Contact: +65 6299 4321
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8.30 AM–9.30 PM
Saturday to Sunday, 10 AM–9.30 PM
Price: $
As a caffeine dependent, I have to mention PPP Coffee in this guide. It offers a range of espresso beans, from nutty to fruity, and expertly brewed filtered coffee with detailed explanations.
I always get the cappuccino here. It’s smooth and not acidic at all!
The shop also provides samples for manual brew and has a selection of beans from different countries. Don’t be shy about asking the barista for recommendations should you feel spoilt for choice.
Pro-tip: There’s a good range of cakes to go with your coffee.
Little Ribbons Pasta Co.
Address: 107 North Bridge Road, Funan
Hours: Daily, noon–8.45 PM
Price: $
Smoked duck on pasta? Don’t knock it ‘til you try it, and go for the one at Little Ribbons Pasta. The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the smoked duck is delicious with just a hint of garlic.
The shop offers a DIY pasta bowl concept where you choose your sauce, pasta, and toppings, cooked on the spot. I go here for the consistently good and affordable pasta for under S$10!
Pro-tip: The beef bolognese is worth a try with its authentic, well-balanced flavours.
Nasty Cookie
Address: 107 North Bridge Rd
Contact: +65 8770 3662
Hours: Daily, noon–9.30 PM
Price: $$
Don’t let Nasty Cookie’s name fool you. Its treats are delightful! The cookies are crispy outside and soft inside, so prepare for a nice chew with each bite.
If it’s your first time, try the classic chocolate chip which is generous with ingredients. But if you’re feeling adventurous, have the matcha-flavoured one. They’re both perfect with some fresh milk for a nostalgic snack time.
Pro-tip: You can opt to add a swirl of vanilla soft serve to your cookie for an extra S$1.50.
The Oyster Bank
Address: 107 North Bridge Road, Funan Mall
Contact: +6569700487
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 11.30 AM–3 PM and 4–10 PM
Saturday to Sunday, 11.30 AM–10 PM
Price: $$
At Oyster Bank, you’ll likely feel spoiled by the oyster selection. For starters, the oysters here are larger than usual so you won’t feel cheated.
There are four oyster flavours to choose from: the Thai-inspired ginger-chilli vinaigrette, the fresh coriander lime, the tangy tosazu kombu (Japanese rice vinegar and kelp), and the yuzu ponzu (citrus and soy sauce).
The last one is my fave because it tastes classic and doesn’t take away the briny taste of the oyster, which I love.
Pro-tip: The sashimi at this place is also fresh and melts in the mouth, so order when it’s available.
