CUT by Wolfgang Puck is popular among steak aficionados for its bone-in Wagyu beef that comes straight from a Japanese prefecture.
There’s also American Wagyu ribeye for those who prefer it, but trust that either will be grilled to perfection using the restaurant’s signature apple wood.
As its name implies, the restaurant specialises in the quality and freshness of its meats and cuts, which require very little accompanying sauces or condiments. So don’t expect a sauce bar here because you might be disappointed.
CUT’s ambience is perfect for romantic dinners or intimate gatherings, but it might be too dimly lit for a family gathering.
It’s almost as if Wolfgang Puck wants to mute the other senses to heighten one’s tastebuds to further appreciate an excellent cut of high-quality steak.
On that note, it would be criminal not to check out the wine menu since it offers a good selection to wash down all that Wagyu-ness. And the desserts are quite tempting too!
Pros
- Michelin-star restaurant
- Great quality Wagyu offerings
- Extensive wine and dessert menu
Cons
- Pricier menu
- Low-lit ambience might not be family-friendly

If you like a lot of sauce options for your steak, then you have to check out Bedrock Bar and Grill. You can choose your preferred accompaniment, whether it’s traditional bearnaise or a piquant red wine sauce.
There’s a good selection of char-grilled meats from Japan, the US, and Australia with accommodations for any doneness preference.
Some of its bestsellers are the USDA prime ribeye that’s been dry-aged for 21 days as well as the Bedrock pepper steak. And if you’re a Wagyu fan, Bedrock specialises in the Okan Wagyu, which is from succulent Australian purebred beef.
Most cuts of meats on the menu are on the pricier side, ranging from S$90 to over S$130. But there are also affordable quality steaks like the soy-marinated Wagyu roast beef carpaccio at just S$48.
What’s unique about Bedrock Bar and Grill is that it sells grill-it-yourself premium steak kits. But during peak seasons, it charges a S$10 surcharge fee to get your meat straight to your doorstep.
Pros
- Free islandwide delivery for orders over S$120

Ever wondered how Argentina does steaks? Do what we’ve done and head on over to BoChinChe to know (and taste) the difference.
BochinChe gives steak lovers a Latin American flavour to go with their char-grilled steaks. Its grass-fed in-house aged beef comes from Argentina, though it also features meats from Japan, USA, and Australia.
The restaurant’s Japanese Wagyu striploin is juicy and tender and carries the savoury smokiness of wood and charcoal-grilled goodness.
It’s pricey, but with the sun-drenched warmth of the place and a great wine selection, you might find yourself (almost) not caring.
If you want a cheaper option for lunch, however, make sure to drop by only on weekdays when set lunches are available.
The great thing about BoChinChe is that, aside from great-tasting steaks, there are plenty of other delicious Argentine treats on the menu. We tried the prawn risotto and felt like we entered el paraíso de los mariscos!
Pros
- Warm, cosy restaurant ambience
- Delicious Argentine menu
- Good wine selection
Cons
- Set lunch available only on weekdays
- Pricey menu
- Somewhat confusing dinner hours
- Closed on Sundays

Steak was fantastic, everything was very well cooked
“My family is steak-loving people, we just moved to Singapore from Chicago and we already missed good steak so much. BoChinChe has a very professional, young and chic atmosphere- the staff was active and the open kitchen looked clean and busy! Most of all, the steak was fantastic, 5 of us picked different steaks and we all tasted each other’s – everything was good and very well cooked. I would highly recommend this place!” – Jinny Kim

The name Butcher’s Block might make you think of a rustic farm setting, but its location and ambience is anything but. Its interiors actually border on the opulent, with lavish touches of royal blue and gold.
With the opulent setting comes premium prices, so make sure you’re ready to splurge.
If you’re on the hunt for the perfect steak in a quiet, club-like setting, your search stops here. And if you love Wagyu steaks, you’d be happy to know that Butcher’s Block offers a good selection of them.
There’s a juicy striploin Wagyu and a melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu tartare for starters. But we opted for the costly (but oh-so-worth-it) Chef’s Prime Wagyu Selection, which was artfully prepared in the restaurant’s open kitchen.
It’s a bit of a bummer that Butcher’s Block is closed every Monday and Tuesday. However, we figured we should take that as a challenge to make room for more tender steaks when the weekend rolls around.
Pros
- Good-sized portions
- Exquisite interiors
- Great Wagyu selection
Cons
- Pricey menu
- Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
- Brunch available only on weekends

Creative yet well-balanced fusion of dishes
“My husband and I had a great time at Butcher’s Block, appreciating the beautifully plated and yummy dishes on the Tour de Force menu. Our favourites are definitely the baby corn, oysters, dry-aged duck and wagyu striploin. Love the creative yet well-balanced fusion of the dishes that had given them all such unique flavours. The sourdough ice cream is so interesting that we love it so much as well. The restaurant has a great and cosy ambience, together with the great attention from the friendly staff that makes this such a wonderful dining experience for us. Highly recommended and would definitely revisit.” – Hailey Woo
Expensive, but the food was amazing
“Wow…so impressed by the new menu from the new chef at Butcher’s Block. Expensive but the food was amazing. Things to check out: Baby corn, Grilled endive, Wagyu tartare, Grilled Spanish mussels, Dry aged duck, Bone marrow potato, Grilled radicchio, and Wagyu OP Rib.” – Vinchel Budihardjo

Fans of Fat Belly’s former hole-in-the-wall steakhouse charm might be taken aback by its transformation. But its fatty Wagyu offerings are still very much intact, as we discovered to our delight.
Now called FBG, this top steak place in Singapore has meat cuts that can be enjoyed on their own or with accompanying inventive sauces and dips.
We enjoyed a simple peppery dip that cost extra, though we found that its piquantness heightened the flavour of our Wagyu short rib.
FBG delivers good premium Wagyu cuts with lesser-known cuts, resulting in a satisfying steak meal that’s easy on the pocket.
Though not as extensive as other steakhouses’, the menu at FBG will still hit the spot for steak lovers who like their meat as juicy and tender as they come. And their sides aren’t too shabby either.
Pros
- Affordable steaks
- Simple and relaxed ambience
- Good portions
Cons
- Smallish selection of steaks
- Closed on Wednesdays
Customer Reviews
Steak was done perfectly
“Had a Sunday brunch at FBG and their food is just so tasty! The steak was just done perfectly and had the right amount of smokiness and juiciness to go along. Other than the steak, their fried camembert is also a must-try! Great location near Botanics Gardens and the service was just so friendly!” – Vicknesh Vish
The meat was juicy and tender
“I had a wonderful meal at Fat Belly! I brought a friend along and we were treated to some amazing food. The price is definitely on the higher side, but it was well worth it. The star of the show was absolutely the Denver Wagyu Steak. The Smokey taste from the charcoal grill was evident which I love so much. The meat was so juicy and tender.
We also had other food that was just as good, especially those that got the Smokey grill treatment. Honourable mentions are the Deep Fried Camembert, Breakfast Fry Up, Grilled Broccoli and Classic New York Cheese Cake.
The staff were extremely friendly and the restaurant location is conveniently located just next to the Botanic Garden.
I would definitely come back again!”– Clement Chiang

Right off the bat, Grill Ninety Nine checks off a couple of our musts in this section. One, it’s halal-certified, and two, it offers good but affordable steaks.
A New York strip steak is below S$30 here, and a mouthwatering Angus beef rib can be had for less than S$50. Our Angus ribeye was tender and succulent, with a flavour that we’re guessing is from a full day’s worth of marination.
There are not a lot of steak cuts and meat variety to be had at Grill Ninety Nine, but what it lacks in options is made up with careful attention to specified doneness. We had absolutely no complaints as we took our first bite of the well-marbled fat.
Besides, on those days when you must have your carnivorous fix, the thought of a halal steakhouse that knows how to expertly season and grill its meats is pretty comforting.
Pros
- 2020 Halal Awards winner for the best steak in Singapore
- Tasty and affordable steaks
- Grills to specified doneness
Cons
- Steak menu isn’t extensive

Because it isn’t really a steakhouse, Royz Et Vous doesn’t offer any other meat aside from ribeye, short ribs, and striploin. But they’re so carefully prepared and cooked that you might forget that steak isn’t really its speciality.
Royz Et Vous is perhaps best known for the smokiness of its meats. This is the result of long marination and lots of choice spices that bring out the flavour of its ribeyes and short ribs.
The meats are quite affordable too. You can get a generous portion of beef short ribs for less than S$60 and cap off your meal with a good cup of Royz Et Vous’ speciality coffee.
Besides, there are other halal menu options to go with your meat order. And Royz Et Vous offers non-alcoholic mocktails for when you want to add a celebratory beverage for a special occasion.
Pros
- Affordable ribeye and striploin steaks
- Offers non-alcoholic champagne and wine
- Succulent and flavourful marination
Cons
- Not a lot of steak options
- Not a steakhouse

Food was delicious, staff warm and friendly
“Had dinner at the location as it was my son’s 12th birthday. When we told the staff that, they actually surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake for the birthday boy and sang him a birthday song! It was a sweet gesture from the restaurant. The staff went the extra mile to update me on what will take place before they brought the cake out and even asked for my boy’s name! My boy was smiling from ear to ear that night. The food was delicious and the staff was definitely warm and friendly and spent some time chitchatting with us too, especially Chef Budi! We feel like family. Thank you for such a memorable night for us!” – Hajar Samon

Known for being a Singapore pioneer in serving French Steak Frites, Les Bouchons not only presents mouthwatering Angus steaks done to perfection and good for two people. You can also get free-flowing fries with your order!
It also has an impressive wine selection. Diners can pair their steaks by region or get it by the carafe or a 1.5-litre serving (or choose champagne or beer too).
The ambience is far from the snobby one you’d come to expect of a French restaurant. The relatively new Rochester Park location made its al fresco area a lush and inviting spot, complete with a pétanque court and pet-friendly dining.
There’s plenty to rave about Les Bouchons when it comes to steak quality, generous portions, and a friendly and warm ambience.
Still, it’s a bit disappointing that the Rochester location is closed every Monday.
Pros
- Some affordable steaks on the menu
- Free-flowing fries
- Pet-friendly
- Impressive wine selection
- Three locations in Singapore
Cons
- Rochester location is closed every Monday
- Set lunches only available on weekdays

Not to be mistaken for Wolfgang Puck’s place, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse nevertheless shares its reputation for being a good steak house in Singapore.
The restaurant serves up a generous portion of Angus steak that’s been specially dry-aged for at least 28 days. The result is a flavourful, sizzling Porterhouse cut generously served with melted butter and can be shared between two people.
Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is also a great place to get brunch. We love the Trio of Cuts, which includes a dry-aged USDA Prime black Angus striploin, a ribeye, and a tenderloin.
With the way it’s served all buttery and sizzling, there’s an explosion of flavours with every bite. And the brunch already comes with a salad, soup, and two sides, so it’s really quite filling.
The downside is that the brunch specials where you can get the Trio of Cuts are only available on weekends and on public holidays.
Pros
- Generous portions
- Carefully dry-aged steaks
- Good wine selection
Cons
- Brunch specials available only on weekends
- Pricey menu

One of the best steaks I ever had
“What an amazing fine dining atmosphere. Not pretentious, but so much attention to detail. Great, friendly and helpful customer service. The staff were so welcoming and so friendly. Fine dining with warm service. The food was amazing! The porterhouse for 2 is one of the best steaks I have ever had. It was my 10th wedding anniversary, so we were seated in a more private area, and was surprised with a dessert at the end of the meal. Easily top 5 restaurants in the world, for me.” – Effa Teece

If you can’t go to a steakhouse, fret not. Sunday Roast can bring the steakhouse to your doorstep instead.
This “licensed to grill” barbecue catering service lets customers enjoy good meats like grain-fed NZ prime steer ribeye and NZ Angus bone-in ribeye steaks.
It gets meat overseas for wholesale prices, then marinates and grills them for BBQ parties in Singapore.
And if you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can opt for its Omakase Experience. Omakase is Japanese for “will leave it up to you,” so customers have the option to select menu items and pair them with others to be put on the grill.
The Omakase is quite affordable, starting at S$40 for one person and already offering a nice NZ ribeye with it. But we do wish that there were more steak cuts on the menu for a bit of variety.
Pros
- Cooking is free for orders S$1,200 and above
- Offers a unique steak dining experience
- Affordable Omakase rates
Cons
- More of a caterer than a steak house
- Doesn’t offer a lot of steak choices
Customer Reviews
Meats are of high quality
“Sunday Roast did a superb job for a BBQ party at my house last night. Very different from the run-of-the-mill BBQs that I have used previously. The meats are of high quality, especially the NZ grain-fed ribeye. Yum! One of the guests commented that it’s like Morton’s in yr own backyard! The on-site chef certainly knows his meats and they are friendly, and great to chat with. Their price does not hurt the wallet either. Thank you for a fantastic bbq! You will be my top choice for my next bbq!” – Mei Lan
Super pleasant experience all around
“The team at Sunday Roast was amazing from the time I contacted them to the time they left our event. I had to make multiple changes along the way due to dietary differences and they patiently accommodated me. They were also professional and polite when they arrived on the day of the event. Super pleasant all around!” – Cheryl Ng

For intimate dates and special anniversaries, you can’t go wrong with Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse. It has a dreamy ambience with interiors featuring leather booths and candlelit tables.
Its signature steak is the Bistecca alla Fiorentina, which is a thick T-bone steak meant for sharing. And if you (and your dining companion) are feeling extra famished, consider getting the 1.3-kg Wagyu tomahawk which is age-dried in-house.
But you can opt for smaller steak portions if the size and heft of a Tomahawk intimidate you. Thankfully, there’s grass-fed sirloin and tenderloin filet mignon on the menu too.
Since most of the steak portions are for sharing, we highly recommend Bistecca Tuscan’s Italian-inspired menu and interiors for your next date.
The price may be as hefty as its steak offerings, but every bite is worth it (especially when paired with the extensive selection of wines and spirits).
Pros
- Romantic ambience
- Good wine and cocktail selections
- Two-course set lunch available
Cons
- GST and service charge not yet included in rates
- Pricey menu

As its name implies, Tomahawk Contemporary Steakhouse (Formerly O’maJ) has a steak selection headed by grain-fed Australian Sanchoku Wagyu Tomahawk ribeye steak.
Quite a mouthful? We tried it, and we agree.
We were told the beef was wet-cured for up to two weeks, which is why it’s flavourful even on its own. But we opted to try the black truffle sesame sauce with it and didn’t regret it.
Tomahawk has both affordable and premium steaks served up in a frills-free way, which makes us like this place even more. Plus, it’s a dog-friendly restaurant and even offers a pet menu of beef or salmon for your canine pals!
It’s a great place to get some nice, juicy steaks without breaking the bank. But the steak selection isn’t as wide as other steakhouses, and some, like the Australian Sanchoku Wagyu rib cap, can only be served in limited quantities.
Pros
- Wet-cured Tomahawk steak
- Set lunches and dinners are available
- Pet-friendly place
Cons
- Not a very wide steak menu
- Some steaks can only be served in limited quantities

Delicious and tender steak
“Delicious and tender steak. Fantastic service. The owner gave us his personal attention and treated us as honoured guests (something we haven’t experienced in a long time in other restaurants). 2 thumbs up!” – Lim Jason
Steak had char and smoked flavour while retaining nice red centre
“Great steaks and we had the owner come out to personally detail items on the menu. We came during lunch which was probably why we got such personal service. We both ordered the set lunches with fillet and picanha. The steaks were very well cooked – it maybe has a stronger taste profile than other places but I liked the char and smoked flavour of it while still retaining the nice red centre. We also took the recommendations of the owner to get medium-cooked picanha which was a good call as it was cut with gristle but turned out just right (and I’m not a fan of gristle at all!)
Will come back with the dog and kids !” – Kenny Chen

Does a Tomahawk steak make you go “Woohoo?” Then head on over to Wooloomooloo Steakhouse on Stamford Road and see how Australians do Tomahawk steaks.
The restaurant has a gorgeous view of the city, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and overall streamlined, clean-looking interiors. It’s a good place to have lunch or dinner with friends, a date, or even your entire family.
The steaks are seared to perfection with just the right kind of crusty charring we love. And while a bit on the pricey side, the Wagyu Tomahawk is perfect for sharing and has a good marble score of five.
A la carte steak options include individual and sharing cuts. And yes, they’re also a bit on the expensive end of the steak spectrum, but after weeks of wet-ageing and up to 60 hours of marination, we can totally see the justification.
Pros
- Offers affordable steaks
- 5-course set dinner available
- Quiet, relaxing ambience
Cons
- Expensive Wagyu tomahawk
- A la carte individual and sharing cuts are quite pricey
