The Best Korean Marts in Singapore Where I Go Whenever I’m Craving Buldak
I love to cook in my spare time, and I always try to learn as many cuisines as possible. That said, I do admit I have a few favorites that I come back to every time, and Korean cuisine is one of them.
Fortunately, there are many Korean marts and supermarkets in Singapore where I can go to stock up on ingredients. So whenever I’m craving Korean BBQ and I’m feeling lazy to go out or I just want a quick Buldak meal, I can easily make it at home.
Currently, here are my favorite Korean marts in the country.
Market Blue
— From: marketblue_official
Address: 163 Tanglin Rd, B1-122 123,124 Tanglin Mall
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday—11 am to 2 pm, 5 to 9 pm
- Saturday and Sunday—11 am to 9 pm
Located in the basement of Tanglin Mall, Market Blue truly is a one-stop marketplace for all things Korean. This shop, though small and cozy, is stocked with a unique selection of items that are imported directly from South Korea!
Of course, the main highlight for me is the array of Korean instant noodles, which I can’t find in any other store. I love the kimchi-flavored ones, but I also like the non-traditional flavors like tom yum soup, curry, and carbonara.
Aside from noodles, this store has many beauty products, and if you’re a beauty and skincare enthusiast, you know how amazing Korean beauty products are! I usually stock up on facial masks, but sometimes, I also get moisturizer or sunscreen here.
Pro Tip:
- This market also has a mini-food court, so if you’re hungry after shopping, treat yourself to your favorite Korean street food!
Koryo Mart
— From: k_market.sg
Address: 17 Lor Kilat
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10:30 am to 9:30 pm
Contact Number: +6564675525
Koryo Mart is one of the most popular Korean stores in Singapore. It has multiple locations in the country, and most of them are located in shopping malls or near MRT stations, making them accessible to the public.
The ramen packets are my favorite things to buy from here, but I also love that there are hangover drinks available. I’m no longer in my early 20s, so a hangover hits me hard these days. These drinks are basically my life saviors!
Other items you can find here include kitchenware, bathroom amenities, and beauty products.
Pro Tip:
- If you purchase online, you can get free delivery if your order exceeds S$70.
Shine Korea Supermarket
— From: shinekorea
Address: 175 Bencoolen Street, #01-10/11 Burlington Square
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10:30 am to 9:30 pm
Contact Number: +6562388897
Shine Korea Supermarket is another popular grocery chain in Singapore, with multiple locations all over the island. My go-to branch is the one in Burlington Square because it’s near the city center, where I live.
What I like about this supermarket is that the prices are quite competitive, which is perfect if you’re on a budget. The variety is also impressive; you can find instant ramen, condiments, beverages, and more!
I love buying chips and crackers here because there are many options under S$2!
Pro Tip:
- Can’t make it to any of the physical stores? You can shop online instead. If your order’s total exceeds S$80, you can enjoy free shipping.
JIN Kimchi
— From: jinkimchi.express
Address: 21 Sengkang W Ave, #03-22/35/36/37/38 Fernvale Community Centre
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 2:30 pm, 5 to 8:30 pm
JIN Kimchi is located inside Fernvale Hawker Center, but it’s not your typical hawker stall. Sure, you can order food and drinks here, but it also doubles as a mart where you buy your favorite Korean groceries!
The only problem here is that the space for the store is small, so you don’t really get a wide variety of products here. Still, the shelves are stocked with popular brands of instant ramen and snacks.
There’s also a butchery section of this stall, which is perfect if you’re in the mood to host your own Korean BBQ at home.
Pro Tips:
- Since this is a hawker stall, you should try the food as well. I recommend the kimchi pancake and the galbi pork belly grilled meat set.
- This store often holds discounts during important holidays, such as National Day. Be on the lookout for these discounts!
Lee Mart
— From: leemart.sg
Address: 17 Petir Rd, #B2-20 Hillion Mall
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday—10 am to 9 pm
- Friday and Saturday—10 am to 9:30 pm
Lee Mart started as a humble mini-mart at Chinatown Point, but now it’s become a fully-fledged store with about eight outlets all over the country!
What I love about this store is that it doesn’t just sell grocery staples like instant ramen packets, beauty products, and beverages, but it also has Korean street food. I like to snack on treats like fish cake and rice cake while I’m shopping.
I also love to come here to buy seafood. The seafood options are all imported from Jeju Island in South Korea, so they’re hard to find in any other store!
Pro Tip:
- This store has a few recipes up on their website if you’re looking for ideas on what to cook for lunch/dinner.
HARINMART
— From: harinmart
Address: 30 Marsiling Industrial Estate Rd 5
Operating Hours: Monday to Saturday—10 am to 10 pm
Contact Number: +6563660555
Even though HARINMART technically has a physical location, it operates mostly as an online store. Nevertheless, you can still find a wide variety of products here—from classic snacks to galbi sets!
I usually come here for the meat, especially seasoned beef galbi, marinated chicken bulgogi, and beef marrow. I also stock up on frozen goods like flavored fried chicken and chicken nuggets because they’re so convenient.
Another product that I’ve purchased often is the Korean Red Ginseng Extract. I only started taking this food supplement at the recommendation of my friend, and I can see why: it does restore my energy immediately.
Pro Tip:
- While you can order products without having to register at the website, it’s recommended that you register anyway because members get to enjoy certain benefits and special orders.
Sol Mart
— From: solmartsg
Address: 10 Sinaran Drive #03-06 Square 2
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—9:30 am to 9:30 pm
Contact Number: +6563976421
If you’re looking for fresh fruits and vegetables, then you might want to check out Sol Mart. This store chain imports fresh produce from local farms in Korea every 2–4 weeks!
I’m such a big fan of Korean apples because their sweetness is sharp but not overpowering. I also like to get Shingo pears and persimmons because they also work as a sweet treat.
Sometimes, I also find unique products that I won’t find elsewhere. For example, the last time I visited, I saw magnetic hula hoops advertised for slimming and bamboo salt toothpaste.
Pro Tips:
- If you order from the website and your total is more than S$80, you can enjoy free delivery.
- If you want to get next-day delivery, be sure to place your orders before noon.
Jangbom
— From: similee_salon and jangbom.sg
Jangbom is an online store, which is why it’s not as popular as the others, but you should definitely check it out when you can.
This store is my favorite place to get Korean snacks because there’s a great variety here. I love buying the Korean rice cakes, which look like mochi with cream filling. My go-to flavors are tiramisu, strawberry cream, and sweet potato.
I can also find classic Korean snacks here, such as black sesame and red bean mugwort. These traditional rice cakes work perfectly for afternoon tea, which is why I always have many of them in my pantry.
If you love seafood, then you’ll be delighted to know that this store also sells soy sauce-marinated crabs. This dish is hard to find in Singapore, so you can imagine my joy when I saw it on Jangbom’s website.
Pro Tip:
- If your order goes beyond S$80, you’ll be able to get free delivery.
Seoul Butchery
— From: seoulbutchery_sg
Address: 13 Yuk Tong Ave
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10:30 am to 8 pm
Contact Number: +6563140268
A Korean BBQ experience isn’t complete without Korean-style cuts of meat. Fortunately, Seoul Butchery is here to deliver the goods!
The display of marinated meats is unparalleled, and it’s not just pork; there are also chicken, duck, and more. Jokbal (pig’s trotters) is also available here. I don’t really like it, but some of my family members do, so I buy it every time I visit this shop.
Aside from meat, this store has other BBQ essentials. For example, there are packaged side dishes available for sale, and if you like to sip something hot to wash away the greasiness, you can buy a soup packet or two.
Pro Tip:
- Don’t know what kind of meat you need for a specific dish? You can simply talk to the staff. Tell them what you’re planning to make, and they can recommend the best cuts to use.
