The Best Kids Muay Thai Classes in Singapore Teaching Discipline to Young People

Training and Certifications. We checked that the instructors took up Muay Thai training from institutions like SGFit Muay Thai.

They should also register for the National Instructors and Coaches Association (NICA) and the National Registry of Exercise Professionals (NREP) because these are recognised by the Singapore government and local sporting communities.

Experience. We’d like it if the instructors had at least a year of experience working as a professional Muay Thai instructor. If they have more than five years of experience, that’s even better.

Teaching Method and Personality. The instructors should know how to handle young students. In other words, they should be able to keep classes fun and engaging, and they should be patient and approachable.

We used our personal experience for this, but we also asked other parents for their experiences for a more well-rounded insight.

Pricing. Ideally, the rates shouldn’t exceed S$80 per session. For memberships, the sweet spot for us is around S$250 per month, but so long as the price doesn’t exceed S$400, that’s good enough for us.

If the Muay Thai centre offers a trial class, they get bonus points from us. If that trial class is free, that’s even better.

As much as I love my nieces and nephews, they can be too much sometimes. Just so energetic and chaotic! No wonder my siblings look so exhausted and frustrated a lot of the time.

On a whim, I recommended that they enrol their kids in a martial arts class, and they did: Muay Thai for kids. Lo and behold, this trick actually worked! Now, the kids have a proper outlet to channel their energy, and they also get to learn new moves.

Struggling with the same problem? Here are some places offering the best kids Muay Thai in Singapore.

How much does kids Muay Thai cost in Singapore?

The cost of a kids Muay Thai class in Singapore usually ranges between S$60 and S$80 per session, but if you book a private session, the price can go as high as S$250 per session.

Some centres allow multi-session booking or monthly memberships, and these usually fall in the S$200 and S$400 (per month) ballpark.

NTG Fight SG is the perfect gym for kids who are truly interested in Muay Thai as a sport. This place is run by world-renowned and highly decorated Muay Thai legends, so the training here is intense.

But don’t let that intimidate you or your kid. Beginners or children just trying to test the waters are still welcome here. No matter the experience or interest level, your child can learn the basics of the sport and practice movement precision.

Even though the trainers here are Muay Thai icons, they’re still kind and humble. Many people have shared that the trainers provide encouragement and motivation, making students feel special.

I should also note the convenience of the gym’s location. It’s located in the Valley Point Office Tower, so it’s easy to find if you’re using public transportation. There’s ample parking space here, too, if you prefer to drive.

You can book their trial class instead, which is free, by the way!

Pros

  • World-renowned Muay Thai trainers
  • Humble and supportive trainers
  • Students of all experience and interest levels are welcome
  • Convenient location
  • Free trial class

Cons

  • Only one timing available for kids’ classes each day

Great coaching

Awesome Morning class with Rocky, knows how to push you within your limits and make the class enjoyable. Great coaching and little adjustments made the whole time, super knowledgeable help. Definitely recommend anyone nearby to come in and try.”

Great beginners

Had a great time visiting for a trial. I did some good work with trainer Azmi (apologies for spelling), great workout that had a mixture of cardio and drills to improve technique. Would 100% recommend for beginners like me looking to try something new, it’s a great Muay Thai gym to try.

Elite Coach Sports Academy has been a go-to gym for my family because they offer a great variety of classes. Boxing, kickboxing, and MMA are the most popular, but you can also learn how to swim or master Muay Thai here.

People like how the classes are structured here. First, they touch on the technical aspects (the correct form and footwork), then it’s time for some conditioning drills. The students will also get to do some sparring drills with each other, which is the fun part.

I also like that the trainers will customise the classes based on the student’s level. So, whether your kid is a beginner or an intermediate, they can find a class that works for them.

What if your kid is shy or you want the trainer to be focused entirely on them? Then, you’ll be happy to know that you can book a personal 1-on-1 training here!

The prices here can be high, though—usually ranging between S$60 (if your coach is a junior coach) and S$200 (if the coach is the founder). At least, they offer two weeks of unlimited trial classes.

Pros

  • Wide array of classes
  • Well-structured classes
  • Customised classes based on the student’s needs
  • Personal 1-on-1 sessions available
  • Trial classes available

Cons

  • Expensive

Balances technical and fun elements well

Just joined BJJ and Muai Thai about 2 weeks ago and my son is already very settled in with the coaches (Coach Sam, Azeul, and Christian). We also like that the lessons focus a lot on technical skills whilst making it fun for the kids. Great great community! Love to see. Keep up the great work!

Friendly and attentive coaches

Very friendly and attentive coach from Elite Coach. I signed up 2 weeks trial for my son. He really looks forward to every Muay Thai session with them, will be signing another year for him. Hope he is learning discipline, respect well and how to channel his energy positively. Highly recommend to any parent looking to build their child’s character and strength.”

What people like most about Prakaipetch Muay Thai Academy is the affordable pricing. One-time sessions are priced at S$55, which is already a steal, but you can score an even better discount if you purchase sessions in bulk!

Still unsure about this gym for your kid? Don’t worry, because you can book a 90-minute trial class—free of charge!

Another great thing about this gym is the fact that they have several locations in Singapore. Currently, there are three (Ang Mo Kio, Choa Chu Kang, and Tampines), so you can just choose whichever is closest to you.

The classes here are well-structured and fun as well. Kids start with warm-ups, which include stretching, and then they do intense technique training. Sessions finish off with partner drills, agility games, and team challenges, so the ending is quite a rush.

Classes are mostly done in groups, but you can opt for private training if you want a customised experience for your kid.

That said, some clients complained about the gym’s terms for temporary membership suspension. They will only allow suspension if the circumstances are personal travel, illness, or injury. Other than those, they won’t suspend your membership.

Pros

  • Affordable rates
  • Free 90-minute trial class
  • Various locations in Singapore
  • Well-structured and fun classes
  • Private training available

Cons

  • Limited terms for temporary membership suspension

Great class structure

Came for the trial here today and really enjoyed the class structure. Very close to what I am looking for in an MT gym. Trainers really corrected our forms, making sure you learn and improve.

Diverse classes, skilled instructors

It has been many years since I last participated in such training, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sessions I attended this afternoon. The classes were wonderfully diverse, attracting participants of various ages. The instructors were exceptionally skilled and detailed in their teaching methods. They took the time to correct any inaccuracies in our form, ensuring that each participant was well-guided throughout the training. I truly appreciated their commitment to ensuring that everyone was involved. Highly recommend these classes to anyone considering them.”

If you’re residing in the downtown core, then Neue Fit is the best place for your kid to learn Muay Thai. This gym is conveniently located in the city, with several bus stops and MRT stations nearby, so the commute should be a breeze.

I commend the gym for being well-maintained and well-equipped. Each martial art has its own dedicated hall, and there are also amenities like shower rooms, lockers, and water dispensers. All this makes the learning experience more pleasant.

The sessions here are so organised, you’ll feel like you’re back at school. They follow specific curricula and provide you with a unique card system that keeps track of what techniques you’ve learned. They’ll even host a grading test!

Muay Thai classes are usually done in small groups, but if you prefer, you can book a private training session instead.

This gym only offers memberships, so you need to commit. If your kid is still undecided, they can attend the free trial class first. You can also choose to purchase a package of class credits before shifting to a membership plan.

Pros

  • Convenient location
  • Well-maintained and well-equipped gym
  • Organised classes
  • Group setups and private training available
  • Free trial class

Cons

  • Only offers class credit packages or memberships (no one-time sessions)

Firm and kind coaches

Our kids have been training at this Muay Thai club for a while now, and the difference it’s made is incredible. They’ve grown stronger, more focused, and much more confident — both in and out of the gym. The coaches are fantastic. They’re firm but kind, and they really take the time to get to know each kid. Training is always challenging in the right way, but the atmosphere is supportive and fun. This place isn’t just about Muay Thai — it’s about discipline, respect, and building real character. Our boys love coming here, and as parents, we love seeing them thrive. Can’t recommend this club enough.

Well-maintained gym, affordable rates

Bright, well-maintained gym with structured classes. I like that Level 1 Muay Thai is often combined with technical sparring – something you don’t usually see even at the more expensive Muay Thai gyms in Singapore. Most of the trainers are local, so there’s no language barrier, which really helps when you’re trying to grasp certain techniques. Best of all, the membership rates are much more affordable.”

JR Muay Thai has many locations in Singapore, but the one at Boon Lay, Jurong West, is the gym to go to for kids’ classes.

I do appreciate that the Muay Thai for kids curriculum doesn’t just focus solely on the technical side of the sport. The instructors also emphasise building strong friendships and social skills, as well as improving discipline and confidence.

Another thing that clients appreciate is that the instructors always try to shake things up every session. Maybe it’s doing new drills or playing random but still Muay Thai-related games. Because of this, the sessions are never boring.

You’ll have to subscribe to a membership package here, which can be a deal-breaker for some people. At least, the prices are reasonable; it’s around S$180 per month. If you book the 6- or 12-month package, you can even get a month or two free!

Additionally, this gym offers a trial class, so you can attend that before committing. However, this trial class isn’t free (it costs S$25), which is a bummer.

Pros

  • Teaches more than the technical side of Muay Thai
  • Fun and engaging sessions
  • Reasonable prices
  • Freebies available if you purchase a 6- or 12-month package
  • Trial class available

Cons

  • Only offers memberships
  • Trial class isn’t free

Engaging sessions, patient coaches

I have been training with Eugene the last few months and its been fantastic, I cannnot recommend highly enough. I am a novice and have been learning something new each session. Each session he changes it up so I am always doing or trying something new, Eugene is always patient in teaching me new techniques and correcting any of my mistakes. I find the training to be a great way to get into shape and improve ones fitness, I definitely plan to continue it.

– Donnacha O Flaherty, Google Review

Intense but also fun classes

Started private lessons with Eugene from JR Muay Thai while the Muay Thai Gym I normally go to is closed. Even so the gym is opening again I just extended with Eugene. He very fast assessed my level, strengths and weaknesses and then within few lessons helped me to really improve. The training with Eugene combines technical parts, pad work, conditioning and sparring in a professional, intense but also fun way. I can only recommend JR Muay Thai based on my experiences with Eugene.”
