The 5 Best Women’s Muay Thai Gyms in Singapore for Total Body Strength and Self-Defence

Experience: I focused on gyms that have been running for at least 2–3 years.

To confirm, I checked their websites, social media history, and class reviews to see that they’ve operated consistently over time.

Instructor Credentials: I looked for gyms with certified Muay Thai instructors, such as International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) or World Muaythai Council (WMC) certified coaches.

I verified this by reviewing instructor profiles online and confirming details directly with the gyms.

Class Structure and Variety: I examined class schedules and descriptions to ensure there were options for beginners, intermediates, and advanced participants.

I also looked out for ladies-only classes or small mixed groups to see how approachable the environment felt.

Facilities and Hygiene: I evaluated cleanliness and equipment quality by visiting gyms where possible, looking through official photos, and reading recent member reviews to confirm standards were maintained.

Community and Environment: I paid attention to how welcoming and supportive the gyms were. I observed trial sessions, read member testimonials, and checked social media interactions to gauge whether women would feel comfortable and encouraged.

I didn’t plan on taking up Muay Thai after my breakup…I just needed something to distract me from my own thoughts. One class later, I realised punching pads worked better than doom-scrolling at night.

Finding the right gym matters more than people admit. These are the best women’s Muay Thai gyms in Singapore for women who want clear instruction, a supportive atmosphere, and training that doesn’t feel overwhelming at any fitness level.

How much do women’s Muay Thai classes cost in Singapore?

In Singapore, women’s Muay Thai class prices vary by gym and membership type. Drop-in classes cost about S$25–S$50, monthly packages range from S$120–S$250, while private sessions are usually S$60–S$120 per session.

NTG Fight SG isn’t just another gym with a big sign. The women’s Muay Thai program here actually feels intentional.

Classes start with basics, like stance and guard, and then move on to more advanced combinations and drills. You get real guidance instead of just hitting pads without direction.

The coaches explain each technique clearly, so it makes sense, and you can see your progress with every class.

What I kept hearing from people who train here is how present the coaches are. They don’t just stand back and let you go through the motions. They stay involved and make sure you’re enjoying the sessions.

I also appreciate that the women’s classes build confidence and practical self-defence skills, not just fitness. Sparring is available if you want to try it, but it’s optional and supervised, so it feels safe.

The gym space gets good feedback as well. There’s plenty of room, heavy bags, clean shower towels, and recovery options like cold plunge & magnesium salt warm plunge. These extras make training feel even more rewarding after a hard workout.

That said, it isn’t a women-only environment, which some might prefer, but the women’s classes still feel welcoming and supportive.

Pros

  • Intentional women’s Muay Thai program
  • Clear progression from basics to advanced drills
  • Hands-on coaching
  • Present, engaged instructors
  • Confidence-building with practical self-defence focus
  • Optional, supervised sparring for safety
  • Spacious gym, quality equipment
  • Clean facilities with recovery perks like cold plunge & magnesium salt warm plunge

Cons

  • Not a women-only training environment

Beginner-friendly, supportive coaching

“Had a great time visiting for a trial. I did some good work with trainer Azmi (apologies for spelling), great workout that had a mixture of cardio and drills to improve technique. Would 100% recommend for beginners like me looking to try something new, it’s a great Muay Thai gym to try.”

I included JR Muay Thai mostly because they’re everywhere in Singapore—Katong, Aljunied, Queensway, you name it. It’s really convenient if you’re planning to train regularly.

Their women’s Muay Thai classes also stand out since they’re designed for all levels. You don’t need any prior experience, and the sessions cover everything from the basics to cool moves like flying knees and spinning back elbows.

The coaches are certified, and people who train here swear by them. They quickly assess each person’s level and weaknesses, and you can notice real improvements after just a few sessions.

JR Muay Thai also has traditional and fitness-focused classes, private sessions, and even corporate training. You can try a trial class if you’re interested but not ready to commit.

Just so you know, sessions here can feel intense if you’re only looking for casual fitness. But if you want real Muay Thai training that teaches proper technique, this is a great place.

Pros

  • Multiple gyms across Singapore: Katong, Aljunied, Queensway, and more
  • Beginner-friendly up to advanced techniques
  • Certified, experienced coaches
  • Traditional and fitness-focused tracks
  • Private and corporate training available
  • Offers trial classes
  • Covers cool techniques: flying knees, spinning back elbows, and more

Cons

  • Not ideal if you’re only after casual fitness

Effective and enjoyable

“Started private lessons with Eugene from JR Muay Thai while the Muay Thai Gym I normally go to is closed. Even so the gym is opening again I just extended with Eugene.

He very fast assessed my level, strengths and weaknesses and then within few lessons helped me to really improve. The training with Eugene combines technical parts, pad work, conditioning and sparring in a professional, intense but also fun way.

I can only recommend JR Muay Thai based on my experiences with Eugene.”

Smooth booking and accommodating trainers

“Booked an introductory class for team bonding, really couldn’t have asked for more! The booking process was smooth, and the trainers were accommodating to everyone’s different capabilities. Special thanks to our lead trainer, Kru Chong! He was so engaging and hilarious, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed being trained by him. Highly recommended!!”

Van Lee Fitness is the most popular women’s Muay Thai gym on this list so far, probably because it’s fully focused on women.

Classes here are safe and non-intimidating, which is perfect if you’re just starting out or want a solid workout without feeling out of place.

The sessions mix Muay Thai techniques with strength, conditioning, and cardio, so you’re not just hitting pads. You’re actually building fitness in a balanced way.

The coaching really stands out, too. Van and her trainers give hands-on guidance, correcting form and helping everyone improve at their own pace.

I actually know someone who trains here, and after hearing from her, I realised there really is a big difference when you train at an all-women gym. Everyone encourages each other during class and keeps each other motivated.

That’s what sets them apart. You can actually enjoy the class without feeling self-conscious.

However, Van Lee Fitness isn’t a fight gym, so don’t expect intense sparring or competitive training.

Pros

  • Full women-focused gym
  • Balanced workouts combine Muay Thai, strength, conditioning, and cardio
  • Hands-on coaching
  • Supportive community
  • Beginner-friendly

Cons

  • Not a fight-focused gym

Personalized guidance, supportive atmosphere

“I tried Muay Thai few years ago and didn’t make it past the warm up session. But with Van Lee Fitness, I managed to have a balanced but sufficiently challenging warm up and exercises. I learnt Muay Thai moves within the first lesson and even though it’s a class, she will personally give you advice and push you past your limits. My classmates so far are super friendly, patient and helpful and I think the overall class vibes is very beginner friendly and positive.”

– Hana Chelsea, Google Review

Welcoming, judgment-free environment

“It’s been almost two months since I joined Van’s Muay Thai, and it’s quickly become the highlight of my week! I can’t stop talking about it—every conversation with my friends somehow circles back to what I’ve learned in class. The atmosphere at Van Lee Fitness is incredibly welcoming and judgment-free, no matter your skill level. Whether you’re looking to boost your confidence, learn real technique, or just get an amazing workout, this is the place to be. Come check it out—you’ll love it!”

4. Farong Muay Thai

Business hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Farong Muay Thai is a solid pick for women who want to learn proper Muay Thai, not just break a sweat. It’s very technique-driven, which shows pretty early on.

The women’s classes feel purposeful from the start. You’re taught real fundamentals, from clean strikes to clinch work and partner drills, so sessions don’t feel rushed or random.

What stands out most is the coaching approach. Since most of the trainers here have real fight experience, their teaching comes across as more meticulous and technical. They aren’t just counting reps or pushing intensity for the sake of it.

They’re also patient. They’ll stop you, fix your stance, adjust your timing, and explain why it matters instead of just telling you to go harder. That kind of hands-on guidance makes training feel productive, even when the session’s tough.

The ladies’ classes usually have a mix of beginners and more experienced students, which keeps the atmosphere supportive but still focused.

On a practical note, being near Clarke Quay MRT makes it easy to fit training into a workday.

One thing to keep in mind is that classes don’t come with formal certification. If you’re training mainly for skill and depth, though, that usually isn’t a deal-breaker.

Pros

  • Classes focus on real Muay Thai technique
  • Technical and meticulous coaching
  • Experienced trainers
  • Patient, hands-on guidance
  • Supportive mixed-level environment
  • Convenient central location

Cons

  • Classes don’t award official Muay Thai credentials

Inclusive and fun instruction

“It was my first time training here, and I felt welcomed. Steve was very attentive and corrected my movements. And I like the way he teaches. He is inclusive and funny and makes the class more fun. One piece of feedback I have is that the signboard is too small, so I struggled a bit to find the venue. Overall, it was a good experience and I will visit again!”

– Joy Lee, Google Review

Patient, meticulous coaching

“Terrific Muay Thai training. Steve is a patient and meticulous coach. He doesn’t just go through the movements, he corrects your technique and provides helpful cues. Space is clean with sufficient equipment. Would definitely come back. Thanks!”

I spent some time at Six Sigma Female Muay Thai Gym last year, and the experience was memorable. I really loved it there!

The ladies-only setup immediately made me feel comfortable, and as an introvert, I found it much easier to try new techniques.

I wasn’t just going through the motions. I was actually building Muay Thai skills from strikes to clinch work, in a supportive environment.

Head coach Nat has over 14 years of Muay Thai experience, including pro-am fights, and it definitely showed in how she taught. She was detailed in a good way, breaking down techniques so people of all ages and skill levels could follow along.

What really made my time there memorable were the people. Everyone was so friendly that I often found myself hanging around just to chat after class. I even ended up with a new circle of friends!

The gym itself was compact but smartly designed. It had spaces for full classes, a reception area, a pantry, and showers. Everything was clean and well-kept.

However, it’s a little disappointing that classes weren’t held every day, so I had to plan around the schedule.

Pros

  • Ladies-only setup
  • Skill-focused training
  • Head coach brings 14+ years of Muay Thai and pro-am fight experience
  • Detailed, patient coaching
  • Friendly community
  • Compact, well-kept gym

Cons

  • Limited class schedule – not run daily

Welcoming community, motivating coaching

“I am extremely grateful to Coach Nat for guiding me with patience and positive energy to kickstart my fitness journey! There are not enough words to describe how amazing Coach Nat is! She never fails to encourage us and make us believe in ourselves! Not only did Coach Nat changed my perspective in terms of fitness, but her wise advice has helped me in improving other areas of my life too.

Also, the other gym members are very sweet and friendly! Everyone is made to feel welcome and comfortable!”

– Alisah Ali, Google Review

Supportive coaches

“Love this place! The community they have built at this gym is incredible, and it is such a joy working out here. From the workouts, to the amazing coaches! Six Sigma gym is hands-down my favorite gym. The workouts are always new and engaging and not only that, the coaches offer tons of support and encouragement on your fitness journey. A special shout out to my favourite coaches – Coach Nat and Coach Celine! The workouts are tough but rewarding and produce amazing results quickly if you commit to it! I’ve been going to Six Sigma for more than a year and I still look forward to every session at the gym. I definitely recommend and encourage every ladies out there to try it out, you won’t be disappointed.”
