Advance your career with the best training schools in Singapore

Singapore’s stellar educational system isn’t just about universities and polytechnics (though they’re still some of the world’s best, mind!). Our training centres offer a hands-on, practical approach that’s perfect for applying skills in real-world scenarios.

If you’re looking to upgrade your skills and advance your career, the Lion City has you covered. Whether it’s coding, culinary arts, digital marketing, or another field, Singapore’s top training schools are ready to help you succeed.

Are you ready to level up?

How much do training schools in Singapore cost?

The costs for skills development programs, like coding boot camps or culinary courses, range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on the program’s duration and intensity.

Shorter courses and certificates are generally cheaper (S$100–$250), while comprehensive training programs tend to be more expensive (upwards of S$1,500).

How We Chose The Best Training Schools in Singapore

Accreditation – The school should be recognised and accredited by relevant authorities, like the Ministry of Education and SkillsFuture Singapore.
Experienced instructors – We looked for schools with instructors who have practical experience in their fields (at least one year of relevant teaching or industry experience) and an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or its equivalent.
Hands-on training – The school should provide ample opportunities for practical learning which is crucial for applying skills in real-world situations.
Facilities and resources – Modern facilities and resources, such as labs, equipment, and study materials, are important for a comprehensive learning experience.

Business Hours: Daily, 8.30 AM–6.30 PM

Website

If you’re looking to upgrade your skills, I highly recommend Coursemology. The centre is always on the hunt for industry experts who have real-world experience to share with learners.

I like that Coursemology ensures professional trainers can easily impart their knowledge. These pros offer pre-made courses or ones created with help from Coursemology’s curriculum writers.

On its online course portal, it’s super easy to find the exact course you need to boost your job skills. Moreover, because of this, training providers no longer need to create and maintain their own websites to reach learners online.

Aside from popular programs like food hygiene and data analytics, you can learn TikTok marketing, drone courses, and makeup and beauty training here.

And—I kid you not—my kid sister took a basic Korean language course here and she can now follow her favourite K-dramas without relying on subtitles!

Pros

  • User-friendly online course portal
  • Three training facilities across SG
  • Reasonable fees

Cons

  • Some sudden class cancellations

I had a great time learning

“Had food safety hygiene course with Mr Pan Tsian Choong. Hotel GM and your typical ex-army officer vibes. Had a great time learning while he shared life experiences. Thank you!”

2. A.D.A.M. (Academy of Design Arts & Media)

ADAM

Address: 79 Joo Koon Circle

Phone: +6586122301

Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM–6 PM

Website

A.D.A.M offers a fantastic variety of courses, and you can use SkillsFuture credits for funding, with up to 70% covered. However, you must attend at least 12 hours of the course to activate funding support.

I recently took a two-day photography and videography masterclass and learned all about angles, lighting, composition, and white balance. The small class size made it comfortable to ask questions whenever we were unsure about something.

Another thing that sets it apart is upon completing the course, learners join the alumni network and receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from A.D.A.M. Alumni are also invited to be part of the A.D.A.M. learning community where they can network for jobs.

Still, don’t expect any post-course hiring support or job placement to be guaranteed after completing the short courses here.

Pros

  • Alumni networking opportunities
  • Reasonable Skills
  • Lab rates
  • Up to 70% SkillsFuture credit
  • Offers customised courses

Cons

  • No post-course hiring guarantee

I left with bountiful knowledge on taking better-quality photos with just my smartphone

“Attended the Smartphone Photography Essentials with the intention of just completing a course, but left with bountiful knowledge on taking better-quality photos with just my smartphone. I learned so much such as framing and composition, and editing my photos using ready and available apps on my phone and I’ve learnt to be more observant of my surroundings to further enhance my photos. Thanks, Andy for the great time! Glad I took the time to attend this interactive and hands-on course.”

3. Genetic Computer School

I became interested in digital marketing when a close friend asked for help with his newly launched online business. Genetic Computer School’s digital marketing series appealed to me for several reasons.

First, it’s aimed at different marketing skill levels, dealing with everything from social media marketing to the more complex utilisation of technology trends for various products or regions. This means there are courses available as your business grows.

Another reason is that some course fees have SkillsFuture funding. That meant my friend’s small to medium enterprise allowed him to pay just over S$330 for a digital marketing course worth S$850!

You’ll need to enquire about class availability, though, as some popular courses can get their schedules filled up quickly.

Pros

  • SkillsFuture funding available
  • Many Information Technology-based courses
  • Reasonable rates for certificate courses

Cons

  • Some course schedules get filled up quickly
  • Some late certificates

We were fully engaged with the instructors during the lessons

“I attended some courses at the school and found the learning environment good and comfortable. Staff are courteous and went out of their way to help us settle in. The instructors are patient and slow down to make sure we grasp the content before they move on. We were fully engaged with the instructors during the lessons and we achieved our objective at the end of our class. I would highly recommend the school to all.”

Tertiary Courses Singapore offers a huge variety of courses for adults, from IT, media, and design to robotics and digital marketing. Surprisingly, the centre also offers kids’ courses, including Python, game design, robotics, digital drawing, and 3D printing.

Personally, I’m drawn to its soft skills courses, especially those focused on critical thinking and problem-solving (somewhat pricey at S$600–$800, though).

The training sessions were well-paced and easy to follow. Our instructor ensured everyone understood each concept before moving on, so no one was left behind.

Another standout feature is their weekend courses, which let me attend without disrupting my weekday schedule. Once the course is finished, the centre allows free consultation with the trainers, which adds value to the whole experience.

Pros

  • Weekend course schedules available
  • Full money-back guarantee for all courses
  • Offers kids’ workshops
  • Post-course free consultation with trainers

Cons

  • Pricey

5. Simplilearn Singapore

Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 10 AM–7.30 PM

From my experience with different training schools in Singapore, one major advantage I can see with Simplilearn is that you get both course materials and live classes where you can raise questions.

Being able to download live class videos is super useful. You can focus on learning without worrying about taking notes.

Since it’s a purely online boot camp, it lacks the dynamics of face-to-face learning like other training schools, though. However, its practice labs let students follow along with their instructors in real time from the first lesson, making the online course feel like a traditional classroom with an interactive, live learning experience.

The school also features leading practitioners who bring current best practices and case studies to sessions that fit into your work schedule.

Pros

  • Allows class video downloads
  • Virtual labs allow real-world training
  • Offers employee training courses for businesses

Cons

  • Some invalid voucher codes
  • No face-to-face classes
