These days, everywhere you turn, people are talking about AI. It’s moving so fast that every week there is some new update, and honestly, sometimes I also worry I’ll be left behind if I don’t keep up.
That’s why I decided to sign up for a course on how to use AI properly. It’s important for me to know how to use this tool effectively and stay future-ready when Singapore fully embraces it.
And since I don’t want fellow Singaporeans to miss out either, I’ve put together a list of the top institutes here that can really prepare us for the AI workforce.
How much do AI courses cost in Singapore?
Most AI courses in Singapore cost around $1,000. Keep in mind that the final price can vary depending on the type of course, the subsidies you’re eligible for, and whether you receive sponsorship from a business.

Vertical Institute is probably the one I’d choose if you’re looking for long-term support. They put a strong focus on AI courses, such as generative AI and data science bootcamps.
Each course runs for about 21 hours, split into seven online lessons, which makes it manageable even if you’re working full-time. The courses are designed to be beginner-friendly and easy to follow for people who might be completely new to AI, including senior citizens, which I find thoughtful.
What impressed me most was the career support. They provide coaching, resume reviews, and job matching through employer partners.
Alumni also get free workshops and lifetime access to materials, which is useful as AI tools keep evolving.
Financing is another plus, since subsidies like SkillsFuture Credits and UTAP can be applied. Payment plans are available, too, though the courses remain pricier and require a $100 deposit.

If you want to really master AI, Heicoders Academy might be worth a look. I checked out their Generative AI course, and it’s split into levels.
Level 1 covers the basics, while Level 2 teaches you how to build automated workflows with n8n to reduce repetitive tasks. Level 3 goes further with Manus AI, where you create autonomous agents that can act independently.
At the end, you receive a WSQ certificate, and after graduating, you still have access to refreshed materials so you can keep up with changes in the AI field.
I also appreciate that they help with subsidy applications. Singapore citizens and PRs can get up to 70% off, and SkillsFuture Credits can bring the cost down even more.
The downside is that you must pay the full fee upfront before joining. They also only accept payments for the non-subsidised portion through PayNow or bank transfer.

Tertiary Courses Singapore offers a wide range of programs to prepare people for the AI workforce, which is why I feel they deserve a mention. They run lessons on topics like generative AI, AI chatbots, and large language models.
What makes them stand out is that these courses are recognised and certified by both WSQ and IBF. This recognition means subsidies can be applied to reduce the fees, which definitely helps with affordability.
I also found it interesting that they’re authorised test centres for Pearson VUE, Kryterion, and PSI. This makes it convenient to gain additional certifications that can strengthen your resume.
On the flip side, they sometimes fail to respond to enquiries. Their physical classrooms are also located far from Singapore’s southern neighbourhoods, which can be inconvenient for those who prefer attending lessons in person.

AgileAsia is one of the better options for AI training in Singapore if affordability matters to you. They run courses on generative AI, prompt engineering, and a Generative AI for Leaders program that looks at how AI can shape decisions.
Most of these cost under $900, which is already reasonable before subsidies kick in. With support from IBF and SSG, the fees can drop even further.
NTUC members also benefit from the Union Training Assistance Program, which adds extra funding and makes the courses even lighter on the wallet.
Another plus is the certification you get at the end, backed by GSDC. It’s a recognised credential that looks good on a resume. They also provide post-course advisory, helping learners prepare for job searches and career moves.
The issue, though, is availability. Classes fill up fast and are only held on weekdays, which makes it tough for full-time workers.
