The 12 Best Night Markets in Singapore: Where to Go and What to Try

When the malls close and the shops lock up, where can you go shopping in Singapore at night? Online is fine, but there’s something exhilarating about retail therapy when the sun goes down.

Whether you’re craving a late bite, hunting for your next food adventure, or eager to snag a good deal, local night markets have something for everyone. Here’s a list of my must-visit spots!

Tekka Centre is a food lover’s paradise at night, offering a delicious mix of Indian and Malay cuisines in a bustling, authentic Singaporean atmosphere. It’s also a one-stop spot for groceries, with a diverse wet market and plenty of affordable clothing stores.

Many stalls offer meat dishes like mutton and chicken biryani, alongside a variety of vegetarian options. Seating is first-come, first-served, but tables aren’t hard to find even if the place gets packed well into the night.

Pro-tip: It costs S$0.20 to use the washroom.

Bugis is a large shopping district in Singapore boasting hundreds of shops and transforming into a bustling night market after dark. It’s packed with booths offering street snacks and fruit drinks to fuel you for further shopping and exploration.

It’s known as one of Singapore’s cheapest spots for souvenirs, accessories, clothes, electronics, and cosmetics. You can even find trinkets as low as S$1!

Pro-tip: It gets crowded on weekends, so keep your belongings secure.

I love visiting Chinatown Street Market before or after Chinese New Year to explore new stalls and items. As a budding vegetarian, I enjoy the variety of Chinese vegetarian options here.

The wall art and street decorations make for Instagram-worthy shots, especially in the evening when the lights and lanterns are on. After dinner, I like to stroll through the nearby historic shophouses for some cultural immersion.

Pro-tip: It’s best to visit on weekdays if crowds aren’t your thing.

Little India Arcade is like a vibrant slice of India right in the heart of Singapore. Walking through its narrow, colourful lanes, I find myself surrounded by the scent of spices and the buzz of the local community.

The shops are packed with beautiful saris, glittering bangles, and traditional Indian crafts, making it a sensory delight and a true glimpse into Indian culture. It’s a headier experience at night as the cooler evening air, the glow of lights, and the bustling energy of crowds give it a lively, almost magical vibe.

Pro-tip: You can find affordable gold jewellery from many Tamilian shops at this arcade.

I’ve always loved the monthly market vibe at Katong Square Lifestyle and Vintage Market, with plenty of food options and a manageable size. The merchants upstairs offer a great selection of retro items like vinyl records, watches, jewellery, and vintage bags.

The bonus? It’s open until midnight, so there’s plenty of time to browse!

Pro-tip: The Friday-Sunday flea market has more vintage toys and cool finds.

409 AMK Market and Food Centre

409 AMK Market and Food Centre offers a variety of foods, but you’ll need to grab a seat quickly to enjoy them. The wet market has a great selection of ingredients for home cooking, and the surrounding small stores add to the shopping experience.

My go-to dinner spots are the BBQ chicken wings, fried oysters, and the western food stall, but I always make time for the traditional charcoal steamboat. It brings back that comforting, old-school steamboat flavour I love.

Pro-tip: There’s a household and hardware shop (Kak Ngee) in the market that has practically everything you need.

Bangkit Market

Address: 257 Bangkit Road

Hours: Daily, 6 AM–11 PM

At Bangkit Market, you’ll find two food courts side by side, giving you plenty of choices. I recommend coming around 6 AM for the freshest produce and just-prepped food.

It’s got everything you need—a POSB branch, ATMs, fresh veggies and meat, home hardware, a haircut, baked goods, a money changer, and even a jewellery store!

Pro-tip: Many fruit stalls stay open until 8 PM, making it the best spot for durian during the season.

The Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar is typically held around Geylang Serai Market, Haig Road, and nearby streets during Ramadan. It runs for about a month, starting just before Ramadan and ending right before Hari Raya Puasa (Eid al-Fitr).

Visiting the bazaar is always a highlight of my year. The vibrant atmosphere, with stalls overflowing with delicious halal street food and unique, handcrafted items, truly captures the spirit of Ramadan in Singapore.

Pro-tip: The exact dates and times can vary, so it’s a good idea to check closer to Ramadan for the most up-to-date information.

Shiok Shiok Night Market

Upon stepping into Shiok Shiok Night Market, the fragrant aromas made my stomach rumble. The spicy basil pork fried rice was my instant favourite. Fresh oysters and tasty mango sticky rice were also highlights of my visit.

The place is lively with light music, perfect for a late-night supper. It’s easy enough to find, as it’s located next to Concorde Hotel Singapore.

Pro-tip: The night market offers both Western and Thai food options.

Pasar Malam (Woodlands)

Address: 30 Woodlands Ave 2

Hours: TBA (but typically noon to midnight)

Price: $$

Website

Woodlands hosts a vibrant pasar malam next to Causeway Point Mall at Woodlands MRT, with numerous food stalls. It typically occurs a few times a year, often coinciding with festive seasons like Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, or other special occasions.

The last time I attended, I enjoyed local favourites like satay, char kway teow, and fresh bubble tea, all bursting with authentic flavours. The market also offers clothing, accessories, and handmade crafts, making it a diverse shopping experience.

Pro-tip: Check out the organiser’s Facebook page for announcements of upcoming night markets.

Lau Pa Sat

Address: 18 Raffles Quay

Contact: +6562202138

Hours: Open 24 hours

Price: $

Website

By day, Lau Pa Sat is a lunchtime hotspot for office workers with a huge variety of cuisines. But I prefer the evening when one street turns into Satay Street with outdoor seating. There’s something special about the romantic lights and the buzz of hungry shoppers.

Take a lap to spot the longest lines if you’re unsure about the food. Queues move quickly anyway. But if you’re there for the satay, head on over to the lane that sells nothing but.

Pro-tip: Most of the stalls here are on a cash-only basis.

Cross Street Exchange

Hours: Daily, 10 AM–10 PM

Website

Cross Street Exchange is a gem of a mini-mall with diverse dining options and a cool, spacious vibe that feels like a step back to the 1940s. I love visiting on Sundays when the flea market pops up, offering historic coins, vintage memorabilia, and more.

The mix of unique vintage finds, street food, and a nostalgic atmosphere sets it apart from other markets. The blend of historic charm and modern energy makes it a must-visit.

Pro-tip: There are some toy sellers offering unique and rare stuff here, so watch out for them.
