The Best Clinics in Singapore for Feeding and Swallowing Therapy

Clinic Longevity: Our team inspected registries for local businesses and company profiles to identify clinics that have at least one year of experience in feeding and swallowing therapy.

Qualifications: The clinics we chose feature AHPC-registered therapists who hold proper diplomas, certifications, and accreditations. To validate, CVs, directories, and the databases of certifying bodies were examined.

Awarded professionals and those trained in several proven methods earned higher marks.

Communication: Through feedback, consults, direct contact, and interviews, we favoured clinics with transparent and empathetic therapists who often build rapport with patients and their caretakers quickly.

The same sources were used to grade response speed, overall staff professionalism, and clarity of explanations.

Accessibility: PWD-friendly clinics within 30 minutes of the Singapore CBD were prioritised. Test drives, Google Maps, and interviews verified that for us.

Higher grades were also given to picks that offer teleconsults and/or after-hours support.

Pricing: Value for money was measured by comparing therapy results against per-session/consult fees. Any clinic that provides free consults received bonus points.

Feeding and swallowing difficulties should never be taken lightly. Left unmanaged, they can lead to problems such as malnutrition, dehydration, aspiration, and choking.

That’s why most caretakers of individuals suffering from medical or developmental issues visit speech-language pathologists (SLPs) for early intervention.

You’ll find several of them across Singapore, most of whom operate in clinics that provide targeted and effective therapies. Among those are the highly-rated spots below.

For additional support, I’m also sharing the best physiotherapists in the area in case you or your loved one has other motor function concerns.

How much does feeding and swallowing therapy cost in Singapore?

Feeding and swallowing therapy in Singapore typically costs S$180–S$240 per session (1 hour). Initial one-hour consults are often priced separately at S$190–S$250.

1. Magic Beans

Address: 231 Mountbatten Rd, #01-06 Block G Mountbatten Centre

Contact Details: +65 8777 3171

Operating Hours: Mon to Sat – 6 am to 5 pm

Website

Magic Beans has been helping children and adults overcome feeding and swallowing difficulties for over ten years.

Better still, they do it through evidence-based methods such as the SOS Approach and responsive feeding. Both are backed by decades of use and supported by multiple studies.

What truly impressed us, though, is the staff’s history of resolving feeding/swallowing problems related to premature birth, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome. Ms Aoyuan and Ms Devi, in particular, have glowing records.

Magic Beans isn’t boxed into one niche either. Picky eaters, children who can’t transition to solid food, babies with bottle aversions, folks with full-blown dysphagia, and those with improper facial/tongue functions queue for their bespoke treatments.

And that’s exactly why you have to call ASAP (free consults are offered). Slots can run out, and there’s no Sunday opening to give you extra room.

Pros

  • Operating for over 10 years
  • Broad case/age bracket coverage
  • Strong caregiver involvement
  • Offers free consults

Cons

  • Popularity may result in limited slots
  • No Sunday hours

They were effective and compassionate

My 18months old son couldn’t transition to solids from baby food because he sucked on his food and if it doesn’t melt, he’d spit it out and we had no idea how to train a baby to process it so he could swallow. Before going for therapy he attempted to swallow his small chicken bit without chewing, would gag and vomit. Thanks to Desiree and team, showed us how to get him to chew his solids before swallowing. The therapist had lots of toys to soothe the child, he was happy to attend sessions, they were effective and compassionate. It is helpful to bring some of the child’s favourite foods and toys to each session.

We are so happy to have engaged Ms Aoyuan for a feeding therapy

We had a fantastic experience with our speech therapist Ms Aoyuan Li. We are truly grateful for her support and guidance throughout F’s time in NICU and the sessions at Magic Beans. F was a premature baby so we had a very hard time with her feeding as she was on oxygen support and NGT for over a year. In an attempt to wean off her NGT, we had to feed her blended porridge via syringe. Feeding did not come naturally for her and she struggled with accepting food near her mouth. By 2 years old, she was still not eating solid food orally.

We are so happy to have engaged Ms Aoyuan for a feeding therapy, as less than a year into the therapy, F is now eating full solid and loving her food! When we first started the therapy, she was just eating soft biscuits and being fed via syringe. We realized that the approach of playing with food like BLW diet, is not very effective for a preterm baby with food aversion like F.

We were in feeding therapy since her discharge from the hospital but nothing worked. With Aoyuan’s guidance, she patiently helped Freya unlock her eating skills, starting from learning how to chew to effectively move her tongue. After every session, we saw big changes in Freya’s eating progress. As she gains the confidence in chewing and swallowing her food, she is more willing to eat different food. She is now able to eat a variety of food and joins her friends for lunch at school!

Ms Aoyuan’s knowledge, patience and personalized approach made a significant difference in addressing F’s feeding challenges. We really appreciate her dedication and patience. Thank you Ms Aoyuan and Magic Bean in helping Freya unlock her biggest milestone!

2. Speech Barn

Address: Vision Exchange, 2 Venture Dr, #2 within Regus

Contact Details: +65 8845 7384

Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Fri – 9 am to 5 pm
  • Sat – 9 am to 1 pm

Website

Led by Ms Karen Chin, Speech Barn is a reliable choice for both children and adults. Her decade-old resume includes working in private therapy clinics, rehabilitation spaces, and major hospitals.

Sessions are conducted one-to-one, and they’re all clinically grounded, with play-based formats often used for younger clients. Method-wise, Karen sticks to recognised frameworks like oral placement strategies and the SOS Approach.

Caregiver involvement is a major part of her system as well. Most interviewees have attended and spoken highly of her practical workshops.

Longevity, however, isn’t a strong point, as Speech Barn opened in 2024. The majority have been running for 10-plus years.

In addition, Ms Karen doesn’t have a large in-house staff backing her up, whereas every alternative operates through a multi-therapist setup.

But the good news is she barely works alone, collaborating with other medical professionals, educators, occupational therapists, and psychologists.

Pros

  • Led by a therapist with 10-plus years of experience
  • Offers free initial 30-minute consults
  • Regularly hosts workshops
  • Engaging therapy style

Cons

  • Newest clinic here (opened in 2024)
  • Not a multi-therapist clinic

Warm and Engaging

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Karen. From the very beginning, she was not only warm and engaging with our child, but also incredibly knowledgeable. During the sessions, she quickly identified some underlying issues that we hadn’t noticed, which helped us get the right early intervention (EI) support much faster. The progress our child has made since starting speech therapy has been amazing to see. We’re so grateful for the guidance, expertise, and care throughout the process. Highly recommend! Thank you once again, Karen. 😊

My child can’t stop talking about Teacher Karen

A.w.e.s.o.m.e! Truly an awesome educator and teacher. My child can’t stop talking about Teacher Karen and has shown tremendous improvement within just a few weeks. She has even become our go‑to phrase whenever we need to help our kid settle down. We’re so grateful for her patience, skill, and dedication!

Address: 176 Orchard Rd, #03-18 The Centrepoint

Contact Details: +65 9105 4575

Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Fri – 9 am to 6 pm
  • Sat – 9 am to 5 pm

Website

What’s amazing about Amazing Collective is that they’re cheaper than most. Through SG Enable, this Approved EIPIC–P centre can lower the cost of intervention services.

They also benefit from having an extensive history. The clinic’s roots can be traced back to 2012, which makes it our second-longest-standing entrant.

Plus, over 10,500 kiddos, teens, adults, and seniors form their vast clientele.

Broad coverage is one more perk. Among the issues they solve are chewing/swallowing difficulties, food/texture avoidance, and choking/coughing/gagging tendencies.

In terms of therapy structure, every plan is driven by initial consults and a client’s situation or condition. Programs also undergo weekly checks to ensure they remain effective as the client develops.

Just don’t forget to book as fast as you can. Slots are limited because of heavy demand, and some therapists have been tardy before.

Pros

  • Operating for over 10 years
  • More affordable rates
  • Extensive body of work
  • Broad case/age bracket coverage

Cons

  • Slots are limited due to strong demand
  • Some therapists have been late in the past

Truly Grateful

Our child had a wonderful learning journey at Amazing Speech, especially under the guidance of Ms. Brenda. She is articulate and eloquent in building trust and insightful interaction with the child. We were particularly impressed by how Ms. Brenda tactfully blends learning with play — our child was improving while having fun! The results were evident after just a few classes, and we could see the cheerful confidence growing in our little one. We are truly grateful and would definitely recommend Amazing Speech and Ms. Brenda to other parents.

4. TLC Speech Clinic

tlc-speech-clinic-logo

Address: 101 Thomson Rd, #07-01/#07-02 United Square

Contact Details: +65 6250 3816

Operating Hours: Daily – 8 am to 6 pm

Website

Established in 2011, TLC Speech Clinic is the spot to call if you value years of operation.

Further boosting their appeal is a set of high-tech diagnostic tools for analysing a client’s swallowing function. Evaluations rely on Videofluoroscopy and FEES, so the details come out reliable, with the latter even throwing in the zero-radiation benefit.

Once the cause is identified, treatment begins, and that’s where their flexibility becomes more evident. We say that because TLC employs multiple methods, including the SOS Approach, Food Chaining Approach, Oral Placement Therapy, and more.

They’re also a “one-stop” centre. You can access internationally trained educators, psychologists, and occupational therapists without switching clinics.

TLC’s varied formats round things off nicely. Beyond one-on-one sessions, teletherapy and caregiver training programs can be scheduled.

When it comes to snags, the main ones are their emphasis on serving clients aged 0–18 years old and their high caseload.

Pros

  • Open since 2011
  • Advanced diagnostic tools
  • Wide range of intervention methods
  • Offers teletherapy sessions

Cons

  • Usually focuses on clients aged 0–18
  • Slots are limited due to strong demand

Really thankful for Tr Audrey

Yun Wei has been with Tr Audrey since 2023 Jan. At that time , we went to 3 therapists at the same time to try out . She is the only one that Yun Wei built connection with and he asked to continue until today. We went through rough period in 2024 Mar when his aunty of 4 years leaving for good, Tr Audrey helped him transition the grief period and give time to him to adjust. Really thankful for Tr Audrey for making such an impact in his learning journey thus far!

5. Ohana Therapy

Address: 545 Orchard Road #14-01 Far East Shopping Centre

Contact Details: +65 8155 6575

Operating Hours: Mon to Sat – 9 am to 6 pm

Website

Multidisciplinary integration is what Ohana Therapy does best. The clinic has 10-plus SLPs working alongside dietitians, counsellors, and physiotherapists.

Convenience is another boon they bring, as, unlike most options, they have therapists who can provide home-based services. That’s ideal if you want to receive caregiver training directly, build rapport fast, leverage home resources, and reduce travel fatigue.

Just a shame you can’t hire them on Sundays, especially with the client load being heavy. Bear in mind that Ohana’s feeding therapy program supports children, adolescents, and even seniors.

Having launched in 2022, the clinic is yet to cross the five-year threshold as well.

There’s little else to critique past that. After all, most caregivers reported noticeable gains in their loved ones’ feeding skills within months.

Language barrier is rarely an issue either. Ohana has therapists who speak Mandarin, English, Portuguese, Malay, Tamil, and Bahasa Indonesia.

Pros

  • Large multidisciplinary team
  • Has mobile services and teletherapy options
  • Multilingual therapists
  • Not restricted to a certain age bracket

Cons

  • No Sunday hours
  • Relatively new (opened in 2022)

They carried a smile

Visited Ohana Therapy today & I authentically love the people there (spoke to speech Wanda and play therapist Windy). They carried a smile, brought warmth and made the well lit space feel cosy. Oh that’s what we are looking for, aren’t we? A professional team that welcomes you as you are.

They have Speech Therapists, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Play Therapist, Counsellors etc. Basically the entire Allied Health team. Oh how wonderful. They have a great gym setup on another level too.

I’m looking forward to try their services. I’ve heard good stuff about them. Thanks for showing me around!!

I have already seen noticeable improvement

My daughter, Ruo Xi, has been attending Speech Therapy with Joy and Occupational Therapy with Zann. Both therapists are very patient and kind, and they truly care about my daughter. In just three short months, I have already seen noticeable improvement in her. I strongly recommend Ohana to any mother who is looking for support and progress for their child.
