Singapore Art Week 2025: 10 Days of Island-Wide Creative Wonders!
Singapore Art Week (SAW) 2025 is back for its 13th edition, running from January 17 to 26, 2025, and I couldn’t be more excited! Over ten days, the island will be buzzing with creativity and collaboration through more than 130 events.
This celebration transforms Singapore into a vibrant stage where art takes centre stage, spilling into galleries, public spaces, and even the most unconventional venues. It’s an experience that always feels fresh and inclusive, showcasing both local and international talents while welcoming everyone to join in.
The theme this year, “Art Takes Over,” couldn’t be more fitting. Organised by the National Arts Council, SAW continues to be a platform where emerging voices meet seasoned creatives, and this year’s lineup is simply incredible.

The festivities kick off at Tanjong Pagar Distripark with “Yee I-Lann: Mansau Ansau,” a powerful dive into Southeast Asian indigenous narratives. Meanwhile, the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) is offering free entry to some exhibits, including “Seeing Forest,” which immerses you in a visual dialogue about ecology and Singapore’s environmental history.
On weekends (January 17–18 and 24–25), I’ll be checking out the Sonic Sessions for live performances by artists like Subsonic Eye and Bakers In Space.
If you’re into quirky art, the “Con-Temporary Art” travelling gallery offers a whimsical miniature white cube packed with tiny displays—perfect for some unexpected art-viewing moments. For a multisensory treat, the “DIGikat” installation at The Arts House Annex blends digital art with culinary creativity, making it a must-see.
One of my favourite parts of SAW is how it connects the past with the future. At Fort Canning Park, “Before and After the Unknown” by Mark Chua and Lam Li Shuen reimagines 11th-century Singapore with multimedia storytelling that blends cinema, gaming, and sculpture.
Over at Gillman Barracks, “Techno Diversions” will explore the interplay of technology and humanity, culminating in Art After Dark—two nights (January 24–25) of live music, drinks, and electrifying vibes.
So, if you’re ready to immerse yourself in art that inspires, challenges, and surprises, SAW 2025 is the place to be. Check out the rest of Singapore Art Week’s offerings via its event map!
