5 Best Singing Lessons in Singapore for Kids, Teens & Adults

Coach quality and credentials - We looked for vocal coaches with proper training, solid teaching experience, and a track record of helping students improve safely.

Teaching method and vocal care - A good lesson should cover breathing, pitch, tone, confidence, and vocal health, not just getting you to sing louder.

Personalisation and lesson fit - Do they tailor lessons by age, skill level, goals, music style, and do they offer private or semi-private sessions?

Value, structure, and real results - Clear pricing, flexible scheduling, performance prep, and strong student reviews matter because they show the school is organised and actually helps people progress.

Acting school taught me how to project a feeling, but singing lessons taught me not to bulldoze a note on the way out. Turns out belting with emotion is great, but belting in key is even better!

There are plenty of vocal schools in the Lion City promising confidence, technique, and star quality. The tricky part is finding one that actually fits your age, goals, schedule, and budget without making your throat file a complaint.

So I put together a review of the best singing lessons in Singapore for kids, teens, and adults. These are the ones worth a proper look if you want solid coaching, healthier technique, and a better shot at sounding polished onstage.

How much does a singing lesson in Singapore cost?

In the Lion City, most singing lessons cost around S$60 to S$120 per session. A safe working budget is S$70 to over S$100 per lesson, especially for private classes at established vocal schools.

Trial lessons are often cheaper, usually around S$25 to S$72, while independent tutors charge less than full-service studios.

Expect to pay more for senior coaches, exam prep, or performance-focused training.

Trying to stay in tune against a backing track is humbling. The piano never pretends you were close. Thankfully, Narelle Ong Vocal Studio was built for that exact problem.

They offer a technique-first approach that explicitly works on pitch, vocal control, range, and singing without straining your throat. They work for beginners and adults, but kids can start too, as long as they are at least 4 and able to follow instructions well.

I like that the studio doesn’t treat young or developing voices like tiny karaoke machines, since the whole setup leans hard into healthy technique, control, and step-by-step training.

Price-wise, it admittedly sits on the premium side of SG singing lessons. A 60-minute trial is S$152, weekday private lessons are S$161, weekend ones are S$171, and 4-lesson packages are between S$608 and S$644 within a 3-month validity.

What sold me was that the studio wasn’t just about singing pretty in a vacuum, because it also offers performance prep, karaoke coaching, talent grooming, and DSA choir audition prep.

It feels like a good fit for those wanting better tone, stronger technique, more confidence, and actual help for auditions or performances.

That said, it’s not the budget pick; there are no walk-ins, and the public group classes are online rather than in-studio. I’d say this suits committed students better than casual dabblers, too.

Pros

  • Strong pitch and technique focus
  • Healthy voice training
  • Useful performance/audition prep
  • Multiple lesson formats

Cons

  • Price is on the steep side
  • Less ideal for super-casual learners

My child enjoys her lessons very much

Coach Narelle is very effective in teaching my child vocal techniques. My child enjoys her lessons very much and can apply Coach Narelle’s techniques. Coach Narelle has a wide range of students from teenagers to adults. Highly recommended to anyone who wishes to learn about vocal techniques and improve their singing.

She has taught me so many things

Narelle is a very knowledgeable singing teacher. During my 5 lessons with her, she has taught me so many things, including the different techniques, how and when to use the correct techniques, singing with the right emotions and fine-tuning/ improving my overall singing. She also starts each class with a very effective vocal warmup. It is highly recommended to learn from her if you’d like to learn singing efficiently and effectively.

My young nieces wanted to do K-pop as a group, which is an adorable concept…until three pre-teens try to hit the same chorus like they’re all the main character.

The Vocal Studio (Central) made more sense than a random coach because it already teaches K-pop, pop, R&B, musical, jazz, and more. There are coaches for children, teens, adults, beginners, and even more serious singers.

Their parents liked how the place doesn’t treat singing like loudness plus wishful thinking. The coaches talked a lot about proper technique, breath control, reducing strain, vocal health, and sustainable habits.

Beginners and adults can enrol, and there are private lessons, plus 2-to-3-pax options, group workshops, and lessons that run year-round with regular hours. It feels like a safe space for young voices, and a useful one for adults starting late.

Here, a 50-minute, 1-to-1 lesson starts at around S$81 with a junior coach, S$91 with a senior coach, and S$130 with a lead coach. 4-lesson packages do bring the per-lesson cost down.

It’s safe to say my nieces are happy with this studio. Between the K-pop-friendly coaching, customised teaching, guided recording options, and chances to join TVS performance days, it’s a solid place to stay in tune.

However, it’s not the cheapest option for casual hobbyists, and it has a more ongoing type of setup than a quick-fix course. Progress will still depend on consistency rather than luck or magic.

Pros

  • Strong pop angle
  • Good for small groups
  • Stage exposure is built in
  • Established but still specialised

Cons

  • Not the cheapest option
  • Not every group class is at Central

He’s patient, easy-going, and enjoys his craft

Hydir is a gifted musician, singer and vocal coach who is versatile and able to teach not just contemporary songs but also the Malay classics like the Dondang Sayang. He’s patient, easy-going, enjoys his craft and clearly wants to share that passion and joy with his students. A pleasure to work with. Thank you!

He has helped me build a strong foundation in vocal technique

I’m still on my journey as a singer, but ever since I started training with Coach Hydir, I’ve grown in ways I didn’t think were possible. He has helped me build a strong foundation in vocal technique — especially in resonance and control. Additionally, he shared that progress comes from consistent effort and not giving up.

My bestie thinks it’s high time she had a vocal glow-up…but only if there’s a free trial lesson involved. She claims not everyone wants to pay only to discover that they have the same vocal range as a goat’s.

Yuan Meng Asia got on her radar since its one-hour vocal trial is effectively free when you enrol, even though it first shows up as a S$50 rebateable fee.

It’s built for kids to adults, and welcomes beginners. The studio offers private, couple, 3-friend, and 4-person group lessons instead of forcing everyone into the same box.

The coaches also work on the usual boring stuff that matters: breathing, pitch, rhythm, voice control, diction, tone, and support. This matters to my bestie because she wants to improve her singing without wrecking her voice.

The fees land neatly within Singapore’s range, but there are a few ways in: S$390 for 4 private 1-hour lessons, S$308/person for couple lessons, S$264/person for 3-friend lessons, and S$240/person for 4-person group lessons. All are to be used within 6 weeks.

If you prefer the program to be short and focused, or stretched out longer, there are also options for S$110/session or a S$925 10-session package. It’s a good fit for those who want lessons year-round to build technique or point toward performance goals.

Do note that it’s still a rebated trial, so it’s not the same as strolling in with zero commitment.

Pros

  • Rebated trial lowers the risk
  • Group-friendly pricing
  • Good flexibility for different lifestyles
  • Recording options are built in

Cons

  • “Free” trial is rebated
  • Short package validity adds pressure

Those who are serious about learning to sing should sign up

I attended the 3-hour Vocal Discovery Workshop on 2 Nov 26. This workshop was administered by Edalin and largely taught/shared by Bryan Wong. Prior to the workshop, I had come across or learned from various singing teachers and also attempted to learn singing techniques through social media such as YouTube. I would like to thank and appreciate the Yuan Meng Asia Team for teaching basic vocal techniques clearly, fun and with skilful vocal demonstration, and ensuring vocal technique practices were carried out correctly by every participant. Their approach of helping the participants to learn, internalise and apply the various vocal techniques was effective, efficient and interesting. Those who are serious about learning singing should sign up for singing classes with Yuan Meng Asia.

His guidance has shaped my vocal foundation

I’ve been training with Bryan for close to a decade now, and every lesson continues to remind me why I’ve stayed so long. His guidance has shaped my vocal foundation, helped me grow with confidence, and supported me through every stage of my singing journey. He teaches with incredible clarity, patience, and an understanding of how to bring out the best in each student.

My strapping pal swore his voice problem was not a lack of talent, but was due to bad muscular habits. I was going to laugh at his gym-bro drama until I heard Hark Music say the exact same thing during his trial.

It made the place feel less like karaoke therapy for him and more like a proper reset. Its Vocal EXPRESSWAY method is built to diagnose poor habits and replace them with healthier techniques.

Hark is good for beginners and adults, and it also takes in younger learners. The school notes its learners’ ages range from 13 to 55, and its approach has worked for both teens and adults.

The lessons cover tone balance, expressivity, vocal range, and versatility. It’s not really about singing louder, but about control, stamina, and not fighting your own throat on every note.

It helps that the school runs in continuous 4-lesson cycles, private lessons can usually be completed in 6 weeks, and classes are offered throughout the year since the school is open daily. There’s a rebatable private trial, too.

Hark Music is a solid pick if you want pop-focused training, year-round lessons, and support for performance through Open Stage, Voice of Hark, and recording opportunities.

The downside? The full course fees aren’t transparently posted on the website, so comparison shopping takes more effort. It also leans strongly toward contemporary pop in English and Mandarin rather than exam-rack singing or broad genre coverage.

Pros

  • Targets bad vocal habits directly
  • Private scheduling is fairly flexible
  • Extras beyond weekly lessons

Cons

  • Narrower genre range
  • Not the clearest pick for very young kids

She is patient, encouraging, and very clear

I had a really wonderful learning experience with coach Lydia at Hark Music. She is patient, encouraging, and very clear, which made the lessons enjoyable and effective. What I appreciated most was how Lydia created a comfortable environment for learning. The guidance was practical and constructive, helping me understand how to improve while also building my confidence. I truly enjoyed the lessons and look forward to learning more in the Advanced course soon.

He genuinely cares about each participant’s personal growth

I was fortunate to attend the WSQ Voice Confidence Course, led by its founder, Amos Teo. This is far from a typical “upskilling” course designed just to use up SkillsFuture credits. Amos brings deep passion, expertise, and patience to every aspect of voice communication. He genuinely cares about each participant’s personal growth, guiding us to recognise and unlock our own potential. His positive, student-centred approach reflects the values of his music school and business. I highly recommend both the course and Hark Music to anyone both curious and serious about developing their voice with purpose and confidence.

I noticed how most of our neighbourhood kids are in the Adeline Gan Vocal Studio practically all year round, and it piqued my interest. From that, I already got an idea that it wasn’t a “sing once, vanish twice” setup.

The studio has a Singing Gems program for ages 4 to 7 and 9 to 12 with graded exams. It feels especially solid for children who need structure, safe technique, and somewhere to grow steadily.

What impressed me was that Adeline doesn’t coach like every voice should push harder and hope for the best. She’s an IVA-certified Mentor Level coach with 30 years of performing and 15 years of teaching experience.

The studio clearly focuses on pitch, healthy range, tone, breath control, and reducing strain, which is what developing voices need. It’s not just for kids, either, because they also teach beginners and adults through private 30 or 60-minute lessons, coaching packages, and small group classes.

With online and in-person options, year-round children’s programming, and coaching aimed at power, range, accuracy, and expression, it feels like a strong pick for families who want proper vocal training rather than glorified sing-alongs.

That said, it can feel more technique-led and structured than trendy or performance-campy. Kids chasing instant pop-star sparkle may find it a bit rigid.

Pros

  • Clear graded path for kids
  • Strong technical pedigree
  • Small-group learning
  • Well-built beginner foundations

Cons

  • Feels more structured than spontaneous
  • Complete fees need further inquiry

That single shift changed the way I sing

I found Adeline online in late 2024 while searching for a coach to help fine‑tune my singing. I’ve always loved to sing, but during my early sessions with her, I realised that years of choir training had made my voice airy — I didn’t even know I had a chest voice waiting to be discovered! That single shift changed the way I sing.

She is expertly versed in vocal theology and applied techniques

Adeline Gan has been my vocal coach since 2023, and it’s not an overstatement to say that she is expertly versed in vocal theology and applied techniques. She has brought me to new levels of my singing potential that I previously never thought I would achieve in these ~3 years. I now use her techniques for practice and during singing for my church’s cell group worship team.
