5 Best Loft Hotels in Singapore for a Stylish and Comfy Staycation

Smart layout and space use - A good loft hotel should make the most of its vertical space, with practical stairs, cosy sleeping lofts, and a comfortable living area below.

Family-friendly comfort - We looked for amenities like sofa beds, extra storage, and safety features (especially for young kids climbing stairs).

Location and connectivity - Is there easy access to MRT stations, nearby malls, or food spots for a hassle-free staycation?

Value and perks - Reasonable rates with added touches like breakfast, pool access, or parking make a loft stay worth booking again.

As a dad who loves good family staycation spots, I’ve learned that the cosy loft hotels in Singapore can make a weekend feel like a mini-holiday.

We’ve discovered spots that have both spaces for our kids to play in, and cosier, peaceful nooks for my wife and me. Here are some of the best places my family and I swear by and would happily book again (with no passports required!).

How much do loft hotels cost in Singapore?

Loft hotels in Singapore typically range from S$90 to S$120 per night for budget or boutique stays in central areas, while mid-range options with more luxe amenities often cost around S$250 to S$300 per night (or more), depending on the location and design.

1. M Social Singapore

Website

Address: 90 Robertson Quay

Contact: +6562061888

Hours:

Check-in time: 3 PM

Check-out time: 11 AM

The loft-style layout at M Social hit the mark for our kids, who need plenty of room to go wild while we chill with drinks upstairs. Surprisingly, there was serious peace in our mezzanine even as our little ones wreaked havoc with their video games below us.

Their Loft Premier and Loft Gallery Rooms deliver that split-level vibe with design by Philippe Starck, so we feel like we’re staying somewhere special and not just “another hotel.”

The location is another big win; it’s tucked along Robertson Quay, which is just a short walk away from food and riverside views.

In terms of family-friendly comfort, the room features a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules for our morning coffee.

There’s a smart layout with the bed upstairs and the living area downstairs, so the kids don’t wake us up when they feel like taking over the sofa.

The loft also offers standout features (double-floor layout, design touches, and good amenities), making the stay worth the rate if you want something above standard hotel fare in the Lion City.

However, I’ve heard some guests complain about how the rooms feel a bit tight compared with full-suite options. Also, the terrace rooms may share sight-lines with neighbours.

Pros

  • Designer flair
  • Smart loft layout
  • Solid amenities
  • Prime riverside location

Cons

  • Rooms may feel compact for larger families
  • The mezzanine stairs are a bit narrow

The room had a cosy vibe

Had a great 1-night staycation here! Unfortunately forgot to take photos of the room, but we stayed in the Loft room (with the bed upstairs) and it was really enjoyable. The room had a cosy vibe and was of a decent size, too. Cleanliness is more than acceptable to me, so no complaints for that either, and check-in was smooth, done in perhaps less than 5 minutes. I was also allowed for late check-out, which is definitely something I appreciate, as I did quite enjoy the room overall. Will most definitely come here again, as prices were affordable as well. Overall, 0 complaints and would highly recommend.

    2. Hotel Mono

    Address: 18 Mosque Street

    Hours:

    Check-in time: 3 PM

    Check-out time: noon

I often travel for work, and appreciate how Hotel Mono balances design and practicality. The Loft Room’s split-level layout makes it easy for me to separate work from rest, with my laptop downstairs and quiet snoozing upstairs.

The space is optimised, with a king, queen, and sofa bed fitting neatly into 35 sq m without feeling cramped. The minimalist black-and-white theme by Spacedge Design gives it a clean, modern edge that feels professional yet cosy.

Being right in Chinatown means quick access to meetings downtown and endless dining options after. The restored shophouse setting adds a local charm that I don’t get from bigger business hotels.

I find the pricing fair for a boutique hotel with strong WiFi, daily housekeeping, and keyless entry. It’s a straightforward stay that doesn’t overpromise, which is something I respect on a business trip.

However, I find the amenities limited, with no gym or in-house dining, so expect to head out for meals and workouts. Also, while stylish, the monochrome palette might feel stark if you’re staying more than a couple of nights.

    Pros

    • Stylish minimalist design
    • Efficient loft layout
    • Prime Chinatown location
    • Boutique value

    Cons

    • No on-site restaurant or gym
    • May be too snug for bigger families

    It’s very charming

This hotel is located near Chinatown, in a very good location close to many food spots. Even though the hotel is small, it’s very charming, and the staff are just as lovely. I was really impressed.

    3. The Warehouse Hotel

    Hours:

    Check-in time: 2 PM

    Check-out time: noon

As my wife and I stepped into The Warehouse Hotel’s loft-style room with cathedral-height ceilings and original warehouse beams, we found ourselves grinning in delight. It felt like a happy anniversary celebration indeed, with a space that felt intimate but open.

It had lots of character and just enough room for some romantic “us time.” The layout featured a mezzanine feel that let us pause time upstairs while the world hummed below. We love that the aesthetic worked out and still served comfort.

Though there were just two of us for the staycation, I can see how this hotel offers family-friendly comfort, too. The bed was ultra-comfy, and the bath amenities from Ashley & Co. were a treat.

The rain shower and Bang & Olufsen speakers were subtle luxuries that didn’t scream “corporate hotel” but rather whispered of special weekends.

It’s not the cheapest stay, but the blend of heritage, boutique size (just 37 rooms) and thoughtful design makes it unforgettable.

The hotel also won the AHEAD Asia “Hotel of the Year” award in 2018. One look at those lofty rooms, original 1895 warehouse architecture, the roof-edge pool overlooking the river, and designer touches everywhere told us why.

Do note that some rooms, especially on the top floors, have limited street views. This can feel a little enclosed if you’re in it for the panoramic quay vistas.

    Pros

    • Stunning heritage-meets-design setting
    • Boutique size = personalised service
    • Rooftop glass-walled infinity pool overlooking the river
    • Modern luxury amenities

    Cons

    • Some rooms have limited views
    • The rooftop pool is more for lounging than swimming

    Very, very cool

It was an interesting experience, a very Scandinavian-style hotel located in the heart of Singapore. Think lofts windows, dark oak silhouettes and chestnut warmth with lots of carpets and woods in a modern twist. Very, very cool. Worth a discovery.

    4. The Sultan

    Address: 101 Jln Sultan, #01-01

    Contact: +6567237101

    Hours:

    Check-in time: 2 PM

    Check-out time: noon

My family and I arrived at The Sultan and headed straight to the Loft Room. The double-storied space meant the kids took over downstairs on the sofa bed while my wife and I hung out upstairs in the king-size bed.

The generous 44 sq m space felt more like an apartment than a hotel room, so there’s plenty of family comfort for everyone. The decor was quirky and fun, and the staff were welcoming with baby cot options and kid-friendly extras.

It’s located in the vibrant Kampong Glam neighbourhood (here’s a guide to the area if you’re visiting), just steps away from street eats, shops, and the MRT. We could wander to local cafes with the kids, and still grab a quiet drink after bedtime.

For a boutique loft hotel stay, The Sultan offers a really decent room size for families, with kids even staying for free under 7 in certain rooms! The building’s heritage shophouse setting adds character over any generic hotel tower.

But because it’s a boutique, heritage-style hotel, expect that sound insulation from the street or neighbouring rooms isn’t always perfect. This might be an issue for those with very young kids needing uninterrupted sleep.

    Pros

    • Spacious loft-room layout
    • Prime Kampong Glam location
    • Boutique heritage charm
    • Family-friendly perks

    Cons

    • Some noise and traffic
    • Limited wellness amenities

    The customer service was fantastic

Thank you for having us. The loft room was great for our family’s stay. The location is great, the hotel is immaculate, and it has everything we needed. A walk to street food/markets or to bus and train stops. We flew in early and flew out late, and the customer service was fantastic, allowing early check-in and late check-out. I’ll be recommending it to any friends/family visiting Singapore.

I had two European friends fly to Singapore to visit my family, and they kept raving about their loft room at Wanderlust. They loved the smart use of vertical space, with the bed up the mezzanine and the lounge below it, making it different from their other flat hotel room experiences.

The boutique touches won them over, as well. There was plush bedding, rainfall showers, and even a little kitchen area that made it feel like a stay-in treat after busy city outings.

It’s situated in the Little India area, so my pals could walk to good food, pop out for culture, and jump on the MRT easily as their itinerary dictates.

They also felt they struck gold for the price, with unique heritage features like the 1920s Art Deco touches giving it the kind of character that no chain hotels can bring.

The thing is, they were backpackers, so there weren’t a lot of complaints about the snug 25 sq m space making them feel cramped. However, if you’re coming with a lot of luggage and staying several nights, you might feel the squeeze.

    Pros

    • Creative, themed loft-style rooms
    • Strong boutique heritage charm
    • Convenient location
    • Thoughtful touches and amenities

    Cons

    • Compact size isn’t ideal for those with lots of luggage
    • The small pool is more for dipping, not laps

A compact, clean, affordable, and convenient hotel

A compact, clean, affordable, convenient hotel in the heart of Little India and across from an MRT station. The room was good for a solo traveller like me. What I liked was how focused they are on reducing waste, such as refillable water bottles (sparkling and still options), some toiletries on request, and a pantry near the lifts. There’s a free laundry for guests as well! I didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant, but it looked very popular. There are lots of good, fun places to eat nearby. This hotel ticked all the boxes for me.
