Very efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and professional… we ended up altering my gown and his suit pants all there! It’s in the market, but there is a small change area with pull curtains inside the store. We were able to change and let them measure and make markings for alterations, and also tried on my gown, which had the zip adjusted to make the gown more fitting!

I am super impressed with Sally’s service and her skills. Her workmanship is impeccable. Brought a new bag for her to add on a pair of sling holders. She found a set of matching holders, and it was skillfully sewn onto the bag. Now it looks as if it was originally part of the bag. I also brought my hubby’s jeans to her to fix the hole in the pocket, and it was stylishly fixed! I will definitely highly recommend her to my friends.

The Alteration Studio has been serving the Lion City for over 11 years now, so I’ve heard plenty of people recommending them. The shop specialises in everything from wedding gowns and suits to everyday jeans and casual attire.
I brought over a work blazer, which I could only describe as a bespoke alteration nightmare. The shop kept me posted after an upfront quote, and met the deadline with a hassle-free turnaround time.
The quality of the work felt premium. I appreciated the attention to fabric weight, lining structure, and the subtle tailoring tweaks that made my shrinking frame look intentional, not just “taken in.” I now understand all those reviews calling the shop “professional and timely.”
As for communication, I was asked how I moved (sitting, standing, and commuting) so they could tailor the jacket accordingly, rather than just taking measurements and winging it. It’s this level of thoughtfulness and consideration that makes me a loyal client.
However, it’s by appointment only and located in a mall as opposed to a walk-in heartland tailor. That means planning is a must, and dropping in on a whim will likely not work.

The kind, smiling auntie at E.S. Lady Tailoring & Alteration seems to understand how weight loss can turn a wardrobe from bloom to gloom (I had three outfits I wanted altered post-diet success).
The place boasts 45 years of alteration/dress-making experience, so I thought of giving it a shot. They measured everything meticulously and returned the pieces with a fit so clean, I could mistake them for fresh off the runway.
I find the price fair and transparent, which mattered a lot as I didn’t have a ton of budget for new clothes, 3 sizes smaller. The turnaround time was pretty brisk, as well (a little under 2 days for all three pieces of clothing).
Don’t expect a fancy showroom, though. The venue has a friendly, no-frills charm, but rest assured, your clothes will be handled by someone who knows fabrics, fit, and frills. It’s a smaller, experience-focused studio that’s best suited for appointments rather than walk-ins, too.
Aunty Elizabeth has experience and expertise
Aunty Elizabeth is really skilled at tailoring and great at giving suggestions! I came to her with a linen tube top with a size zip and no seam allowances, unsure of how to tailor it, as it was too small at my bust (and hence I couldn’t zip it up all the way), but the waist fit perfectly. Aunty Elizabeth has experience and expertise, so she realised adding a side panel/removing the zip wouldn’t look nice – she suggested adding a V shape lace detailing at the back to add extra room at the bust area! This gave me enough chest allowance to fully zip up, without changing the look of the front of the top, and it even made the back of the top prettier (especially since she added a really cute bow)! I’ve brought pants to Aunty Elizabeth before to alter, and she is always super kind and skilled with her work – I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a tailor.

Yes, they specialise in unisex clothing like trousers, shirts, casual wear, and jeans, which suited me fine. My current wardrobe is made up of “male” and “female” fits, after all. But while it’s great for casual and mid-range pieces, massive custom jobs or high-end designer pieces may need a luxury outlet’s touch rather than this shop’s.
I like the absence of “we’ll see what it takes” statements in our price discussion. I got upfront pricing and felt confident enough to drop off several pieces without fretting about hidden charges.
Turnaround was fine. It’s not the fastest I’ve experienced by far, but still consistent with my schedule and delivered without surprise delays.

Went here to alter my football jersey from XL size to L size. Requested to make the jersey shorter, the waist narrower, sleeves narrower. I must say the workmanship is very, very good, and the price is really reasonable (unlike other shops). I am very happy with the result. 100% recommended.
