We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

You can keep family matters civil with the best estate planning lawyers in Singapore!

Experience: Our team prioritised lawyers and firms with more than five years of experience in estate planning. To validate, physical documents, directories like the Law Society of Singapore, company histories, and LinkedIn profiles were examined.

Comprehensive Services: We called and checked service listings to determine whether a lawyer also provides services such as establishing a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), deed preparation, tax minimisation, trust setup, asset protection, etc.

Availability: To grade response speed, transparency, and proactivity, we referenced test queries and client interviews. Higher scores were granted to entrants with after-hours services or round-the-clock support.

Communication Skills: The same methods allowed us to evaluate clarity of explanations, patience, listening skills, attentiveness, compassion, and rapport-building skills.

Pricing: Factors such as results and complexity were measured against costs to assess value for money.

Loads of people reckon that estate planning is only for the mega-rich. In reality, anyone with assets, particularly those with dependents, can benefit from having a plan in place.

It can reduce the likelihood of family disputes, support tax efficiency, and give you peace of mind knowing everything will be handled properly when the time comes.

If you want these benefits for your family, our team searched for the best estate planning lawyers in Singapore, people who can simplify it for you.

While you’re at it, consider hiring these home inspectors to ensure nothing you inherit or pass on is overlooked or structurally off.

How much does it cost to write a will in Singapore?

In Singapore, the cost of writing a simple will is typically between S$200 and S$400. More complicated matters, such as those involving overseas assets, are pricier, costing S$500 and beyond.

Probate fees, meanwhile, start at S$1,400 for simple estates with asset values below S$500,000, while uncontested estates reaching S$3 million will likely cost you around S$2,400.

Expect to pay significantly more if the following are involved: disputes, claims, missing records, and multiple executors and/or beneficiaries.

Operating Hours: Mon to Fri – 9 am to 6 pm

Website

There’s barely any mystery to PKWA Law staying open since 1988. For one, their estate planning services are priced right and clear; even The Straits Times says it.

And two, they have a well-rounded suite of solutions that works in their favour. Will writing is the flagship, unsurprisingly, followed by estate planning, LPA, and dispute resolution.

Clients not well-versed in legal terms can relax. Based on chats and test consults, the firm is pretty good at providing clear instructions or explanations.

If we’re talking efficiency, they normally check that box too, as probates can be obtained within a month.

Our biggest concern is the potential wait time before getting into PKWA’s system. You’re looking at a multi-awarded firm that offers no-cost initial consults: it’s bound to attract eyeballs.

The phone reps could also polish their service. Some clients weren’t fans of getting transferred from one staff member to the next.

Pros

  • Operating for over 3 decades
  • Multi-awarded firm
  • Free initial consults
  • Reasonable pricing

Cons

  • Limited slots
  • Instances of clients getting juggled around

They took the time to clearly explain every step of the process, responded promptly to my questions and handled my matter with great care and attention to detail. Their expertise and dedication gave me real peace of mind throughout. I highly recommend PKWA Law Practice to anyone looking for reliable, efficien, and trustworthy legal services.

IRB Law’s sizeable team comprises trial-hardened attorneys. Mohammad Baiross, for example, has been representing clients since 2008, with estate planning (Faraid included) as one of his many specialities.

And he’s not the only lawyer present who can flex about that. Partners such as Rabi Ahmad and Kulvinder Kaur are seasoned in estate planning as well, so clients have options.

Moving to response speed, they’re often reliable, especially if you ask people whom Rani has assisted. Interviewees told our team she’s patient and excellent at breaking down complicated matters or requirements.

It’s not always true for every lawyer, sadly. We’ve spoken to a handful of clients who’ve noted gaps in receiving updates.

Occasional but lengthy wait times in the office should also be anticipated. One was quite miffed about sitting for 40 minutes for a 5-minute signing.

But hey, you might overlook that if Singapore-friendly pricing matters more.

Pros

  • Operating for nearly two decades
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Expert in Fariad law
  • Multiple lawyers with Estate Planning expertise

Cons

  • Some lawyers can be slow to reply
  • Long office wait times

The moment we found out that Yuen Law’s clientele is global, we knew they were doing things properly.

One of those is writing wills. Based on those we spoke with, the entire process goes down smoothly, thanks to courteous and well-organised lawyers like the experienced Lim Fung Peen.

Estate planning matters are presented in an accessible way, too. Even older clients with limited reading confidence were able to follow the explanations.

Response speed could be more consistent, though. Yuen Law is more often prompt than not, but some feedback still points to slow email replies and unreturned calls.

Initial consults don’t always come free, either, primarily those held for more complex issues. On the upside, fees are discussed transparently before proceeding.

They’re also a fitting choice if legal concerns typically make you anxious or frustrated. Nearly every lawyer here is said to be reassuring.

Pros

  • Operating for over a decade
  • Great will-writing track record
  • Clear explanations
  • Pros at calming down anxious clients

Cons

  • Initial consults aren’t always free
  • Instances of slow replies and unreturned calls

Extremely Helpful

Tris was extremely helpful and patient when we were lost on which directions should be taken. His advise and assistance had helped assured us and with his guidance, we had successfully managed to close the case smoothly in a way that my husband and I were happy with.  Would definitely recommend those who need a law firm to be in touch with them.  Thank you again Yuen Law and Tris for your support in our matters! We greatly appreciate!

As the name gives away, Singapore Family Lawyers works mainly in family law, including estate planning. In fact, The Straits Times has awarded them since 2021 for consistently performing well in the area.

Given their meticulous approach, we’re not shocked. Past clients have repeatedly given them props for two major things: (1) thorough processing of documents and (2) exceptional court readiness.

Even better, the firm usually lands favourable outcomes or positive resolutions (though it’s mostly clients dealing with divorce who claim this).

As for the snags, they’ve faced criticism in the past for delayed email responses and having less-than-cordial secretaries.

What’s not often critiqued is Singapore Family Lawyers’ fixed and transparent packages. The signature Will + LPA deal, for instance, is S$790 through and through.

First consults are generally free as well, and despite the no-obligation setup, they’re still reportedly detailed and tailored.

Pros

  • Multi-awarded firm
  • Fixed packages
  • Quick and meticulous document processing
  • Offers free initial consults

Cons

  • Complaints about rude staff
  • Past delays in email replies

I highly recommend them

I used PKWA law firm, lawyer Christina. What I loved most was how fast and efficient she was. She kept things moving quickly, replied to my questions promptly and finished the whole process much faster than I expected, with no unnecessary delays.

The fees were clear and fair, no surprises. Everything was handled carefully and correctly the first time. If you need a probate lawyer after losing a loved one, I highly recommend them.

Friendly, helpful, and responsive

I had a great experience with PKWA Law. The team is professional and very patient, taking the time to explain complicated stuff in a way that’s easy to understand. They listened to what I needed and gave practical advice, even bringing in input from other areas within the firm when helpful. Pricing is reasonable and fair too. Big thanks to Wendy and Elgin for being friendly, helpful, and responsive throughout.

5. Kith & Kin Law Corporation

Operating Hours:

  • Fri – 11 am to 5 pm

Kith & Kin is among Singapore’s most reliable options for those seeking a personalised service. See, this private-client and community firm believes that “no family is alike.”

In practice, you’ll receive one-on-one support from start to finish. Shen Kiat Tan (the CEO) oversees things, and that’s good news, as he’s usually described as big-hearted, practical, clear, and knowledgeable.

He’s no rookie either. As of 2026, Shen has assisted over 200 clients.

You have one major catch to consider, though, and it’s Kith & Kin’s relatively shorter tenure, having opened in 2019. Most firms above have been running for decades.

Some may also see the smaller team size as a possible constraint. The firm operates with an ensemble of fewer than five lawyers, after all.

Pricing-wise, we didn’t see notable concerns, particularly in terms of predictability and cost.

Pros

  • Tailored approach
  • Reasonable and predictable fees
  • Has worked with 200-plus clients
  • Clear explanations

Cons

  • Has the fewest lawyers on offer
  • Least time-tested firm here

They were extremely patient and gentle

Thanks to Shen Kiat and Angela for assisting us with the necessary documents and orders after our brother’s demise. They were extremely patient and gentle during the period of our grieving. Couldn’t have asked for a better team to handle these issues.
