When my mom reached her golden years, she made one thing non-negotiable: ageing in her own place instead of moving into residential care (though these excellent nursing homes made her think twice).
So I spent months searching for a home care provider. My goal was to find an agency that could meet her medical and day-to-day needs while keeping her daily routines intact.
We settled on one last year, and since then, she’s been raving about the personalised care, cost savings, and flexibility. If you want the same luxury for yourself or your loved one, the providers below offer services that can seamlessly fit into your life.
What’s the hourly rate of home care providers in Singapore?
The hourly rate of home care providers in Singapore is $20–$40, with a $5 surcharge usually added on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday bookings. Home therapy services, meanwhile, sit between $180 and $200 for a 1-hour session.
Most also offer prepaid care packages, often starting at $250–$300 for a 10-hour service.
1. Active Global Specialised Caregivers Singapore

Caring since 2012, Active Global is among Singapore’s most tenured providers. Their clientele’s size pretty much shows that.
But what’s truly unique about them is the Live-In Caregivers option (which we also tackled here), featuring seasoned and foreign nurses. Nearly every name down there focuses solely on short-term medical and personal care.
The said caregivers undergo a meticulous matching process. That’s likely why even “hard-to-win-over” patients, like stroke survivors and those with dementia, seem to warm up quickly.
And if long-term care is not what you need, you can go with short-term arrangements. Active Global has services for basic needs, home therapy sessions, dialysis, medication management, and doctor consults.
Unsurprisingly, the costs are a touch higher than most. Grants/subsidies can ease the burden, but still, cheaper picks are around.
Some of their caregivers don’t know the city’s routes well either.

2. Helpling

I ended up going with Helpling. Given their elderly care speciality and my mom’s age, that’s no surprise.
One of the positives is the structured and well-rounded care system. Instead of a “helper,” they found my mom a caregiver she really clicks with, all while attending to her eating, bathing, medication, and companionship needs.
And the admin support hasn’t given us headaches yet. I often speak with the reps via WhatsApp or manage bookings through the user-friendly app, and so far, both have been efficient.
If anything, the gap is in handling complex medical procedures. You can phone them for housekeeping, repairs, and ADLs (activities of daily living), but not for stuff like specialised care or blood-taking.
Platform bookings also incur an extra $3.90.
Good thing Helpling’s general rates are Singapore-friendly. Elderly care, for one, only costs $21–$27 an hour, with the weekdays priced higher.
Prompt Responses
We have used the Elder Care service from Helpling since May 2024 and have been extremely satisfied with the help and support offered by Helpling and their carefully chosen, trained helpers. Communication with Helpling was professional, prompt and easy as their customer services provide immediate or very prompt responses to any queries or requests. I would highly recommend using their Elder Care services. I have also used Helpling for part-time help with household chores and found their services excellent. We have been happy clients and are now pleased to recommend them to others.

Jaga-Me’s range is holistic. They have people for ADL support, procedures such as injections and blood tests, specialised care, doctor house calls, and allied health therapies.
Most clients think they’re reliable as well, particularly when it comes to last-minute appointments. Dr Cindy Yeo and nurses like Peik Joo are the usual standouts for ad hoc sessions, with most requests accepted within 30 minutes of filing.
The WhatsApp team is key to making that happen. During our trials, a rep named Crystal sorted our concerns fast.
Just note that some clients had gripes with a certain doctor’s less-than-warm approach.
Pricing is another point to consider. Though bespoke plans for long-term care are offered, the usual fees can feel a little sharp.
As a workaround, we highly suggest calling your main healthcare provider. If it’s part of Jaga-Me’s circle, you just might nab discounts or more.
Very Kindhearted
Highly recommend Jaga-Me service. We were very fortunate to get a very kindhearted healthcare assistant, Marie. She is warm and makes effort to interact with my father in law who has mild dementia, and mum in law who is hard of hearing. One of the most steady picks for specialised home support is VickyCares, as they’re a team of specialists.
That’s made clear by their service list, which is grounded in complex medical procedures. To name a few, there’s wound management, blood-taking, stitching, infusion therapy, and catheterisation.
Doctor-led consults can be booked too. There’s even a telehealth option, which is good news for those who’d rather spend $40–$70 than $250–$300.
Just to be clear, we’re not claiming the in-person services aren’t splurge-worthy. VickyCares often sends out punctual specialists, who also check our gentle, efficient, and compassionate boxes.
What’s not usually ticked is the basic care front. Again, nursing care is their main gig; some entries go beyond that.
Longevity is another minor weak point. Combined experience aside, this 2021-founded provider is our youngest entry.
On the flipside, their pricing for most services is spot-on for Singapore.

Homage’s laurels add extra credit to their rep. When you’ve bagged wins from the Eldercare Innovation Awards and Emerging Enterprise Awards, that’s almost a given.
Still, it’s quality that landed them here. The nurses looking after patients with dementia are especially loved, thanks to their patience and effective rapport-building skills.
We can’t say they’re perfect, though. An obvious concern is their history of last-minute cancellations, lowering their reliability standing.
Homage’s policy of deducting money from prepaid packages despite the services not actually used isn’t well-received either.
But if we’re talking general rates, they’re not too shabby. The hourly rates for home and nursing care start at $23–$26.50, while therapies kick off at $180 an hour, all carried out by licensed professionals.
Lastly, the Homage App quickens the matchmaking process, since you can input the most relevant info there. That includes a patient’s medical history, language, personality, and routines.
Very Promptly
Have recently engaged Homage Home Caregiver services to look after my 99 years old grandma for a day when the helper is off. Have left a message in the hotline to have the care advisors to return a call back. The care advisor, Annabella Lee return a call back very promptly and she patiently advised on the various packages, options available, the steps to complete the homage app, forms and patiently addressing all my grandma needs and concerns so that they can find a suitable caregiver to meet my grandma’s needs. The service coordinator manager, Cynthia is also very prompt in her response and assistance when I have requested to change my payment package and details.
