Stylist Expertise and Technique: I focused on salons with hairstylists who showed strong technical ability across cuts, coloring, treatments, and styling.

I also looked at whether stylists had formal training or brand certifications like WSQ hairdressing qualifications or training with professional brands such as L’Oréal Professional or Schwarzkopf Professional.

I checked this through real client results, salon portfolios, and stylist profiles, with extra attention given to consistent results across different stylists.

Service Quality and Consultation Process: I assessed how each salon handled consultations, from booking to the actual chair experience. This included how clearly stylists explained options and how realistic they were about expected results.

I also considered how smooth the overall process felt based on inquiries, appointment handling, and in-salon communication.

Range of Services and Specializations: I checked each salon’s official service menu to see how comprehensive their offerings were, including cuts, coloring, scalp treatments, perms, and repair treatments.

I gave extra consideration to salons that specialized in certain techniques, such as Korean perms, balayage, or scalp-focused treatments, especially when those specializations were clearly backed by results.

Customer Experience and Consistency: I reviewed long-term customer feedback across Google Reviews and social media to see how consistent the experience was over time.

Instead of focusing on one-off reviews, I looked for repeated patterns in service quality, stylist behavior, and overall satisfaction, especially for core services like haircuts, coloring, and treatments.

Salon Cleanliness and Ambience: I looked at how well-maintained and comfortable each salon space felt, using a mix of on-site impressions (where available), customer photos, and service videos.

Clean workstations, organized tools, and a calm environment were key indicators, especially for salons offering longer treatments like coloring or rebonding.

When life gets overwhelming, I usually book a beauty salon appointment. It’s my version of a self-date, a quiet reset where I can relax and leave feeling refreshed.

But sometimes, the experience isn’t as relaxing as I want. Some salons feel rushed, some focus too much on selling extras, and others just don’t meet my expectations.

That’s why I’ve become pickier about where I go. I made this list of the best beauty salons in Singapore. These are the places that really balance skill, comfort, and consistency.

If you’re planning a more complete glow-up that goes beyond skincare and facials, you might also want to look at the best hair salons in the city for professional cut and colour services.

Finding a reliable spot in Lucky Plaza can feel like a bit of a gamble, so I like that Emily Beauty Salon manages to keep almost every beauty service under one roof.

What stood out to me is that they don’t treat brow embroidery like a one-size-fits-all service. Instead of rushing through the consultation, the technicians actually spend time looking at your features and explaining the mineral-based pigments they use, especially for clients with sensitive skin.

It’s a nice change of pace when the person holding the tools seems genuinely invested in how everything will look once it heals instead of just focusing on the appointment itself.

Beyond brows, the service list is huge. They cover everything from lash lifts to clinical Dermalogica facials that are especially helpful for stubborn skin concerns.

A lot of clients also seem to like the convenience factor here. You can squeeze in an IPL session and a pedicure in the same afternoon without needing to bounce between different salons.

That staff has built a reputation for being approachable, and since they’re open daily, booking around a packed work week doesn’t usually turn into a hassle.

Just make sure you’re certain about the treatments you want before paying, because they’re pretty strict about their no-refund policy for packages and deposits.

    Pros

    • Wide range of beauty services
    • Personalized brow embroidery consultations
    • Uses mineral-based pigments for sensitive skin
    • Technicians focus on healed results
    • Offers clinical Dermalogica facials
    • Convenient one-stop beauty appointments
    • Approachable and accommodating staff
    • Open daily for flexible scheduling

    Cons

    • Strict no-refund policy on packages and deposits

    Skilled beauticians, consistent results

“Has always been coming here for my beauty and their product here really helps my skin. Very gentle and good product. Don’t dare to try other product elsewhere anymore. Good and professional beautician and does good eyebrow as well. Good Gem must share. Thank you Mei!”

    High-quality service, natural-looking results

“Had such a great experience with my eyelash extensions! The lashes are soft, fluffy, and not heavy at all. They were customized perfectly to suit my eye shape, and the results look natural yet enhanced. Retention is amazing and the whole session was comfortable. Will definitely be back!””

Visiting Bada Hair every month has become a routine for me since the results are always reliable and well done, particularly with Isaac handling my root touch-ups. He’s incredibly precise, and it always comes out looking clean.

Every haircut I’ve gotten here has matched what I had in mind. I also love the highlights I got recently. They made my face look noticeably brighter without feeling too dramatic.

What I really appreciate is that the stylists don’t jump straight into recommending trends. They actually take time to analyze your hair texture and damage level first before suggesting a Korean-inspired cut, color, or treatment that would realistically work for your hair.

The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The whole salon is inspired by Jeju Island, so it feels calm and relaxing while they work through treatments.

They also put a big focus on scalp health, offering specialized care for concerns like thinning hair and oily scalps. It’s a nice bonus if you’re looking for more than just a quick trim or color appointment.

That said, it’s definitely on the pricier side, and your wallet will probably feel it after a full session.

    Pros

    • Precise and consistent results
    • Haircuts and highlights tailored to facial features
    • Stylists assess hair condition before treatments
    • Specializes in Korean-inspired styles
    • Relaxing Jeju Island-inspired atmosphere
    • Offers specialized scalp care treatments
    • Long-lasting salon results

    Cons

    • Premium pricing

    Professional service, thorough treatment experience

“My scalp is on the oily side and I wanted to try a scalp therapy session, googled and decided to try Bada/MOS after reading the reviews (no hard selling and good service). I did the signature scalp therapy today with Ploy, scalp therapist. The overall experience was excellent. First there was a hair scan to show existing issues (mine was oil clogs). Then I was brought to a private room for treatment. Ms Ploy explained the different steps of the treatment well. After the treatment, there was another scan to show the oil clogs were resolved. Ms Ploy was friendly and professional, there was no hard selling of products or packages. But I decided to get the $500 membership since there was a 10% off the service. I would rather return again for the service.”

    Friendly service, personalized consultation

“I did my hair with Blair! She’s such a pleasant person—super friendly and approachable. She advised me on a new hair colour according to my skin tone, and I really love the end result. She only recommended the services that were needed for my hair—no hard selling. I really appreciate that honesty. Thank you!”

    3. Miin Hair & Beauty

    miin-hair-beauty-logo

Address: 350 Orchard Rd, #01-04 Isetan Scotts

    Phone: +65 6232 7891

Business hours: Monday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

    Website

If it’s your first time stepping into Miin Hair & Beauty Salon, you’ll probably catch yourself going “wow” right away. The interior has that minimalist, high-end Korean feel that makes the whole space feel more like a calm retreat than a busy salon.

What really stood out to me is how the atmosphere matches the level of skill here. A lot of their stylists come from the Cheongdam district in Seoul, and you can kind of see that training reflected in how they approach each service.

They don’t just give everyone the same look, either. Each appointment usually starts with a proper check of your hair texture and scalp health so they can decide if a soft-layered cut or a digital perm actually suits you instead of forcing a trend

They also lean heavily on advanced treatments like Tokio Inkarami and Olaplex, which I like because it helps keep your hair from feeling dry or straw-like after coloring or chemical work.

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that the final bill can sometimes come as a surprise. There have been cases where pricing gets a bit unclear, usually around add-on treatments or how promotions are applied during the session.

    Pros

    • Stylish high-end Korean-inspired interior
    • Stylists trained in Seoul’s Cheongdam district
    • Personalized hair and scalp consultations
    • Specialized in Korean-style cuts and perms
    • Uses advanced hair repair systems
    • Relaxing and upscale salon atmosphere

    Cons

    • Possible pricing confusion during appointments

    Modern, relaxing salon environment

“I had an amazing experience at Miin Hair Salon on Orchard Road. The salon is beautifully designed — modern, calm, and truly luxurious. My stylist Pio was very professional and attentive, taking the time to understand exactly what I wanted. The result was perfect — clean, stylish, and easy to manage. For the quality of service and ambience, the price is very reasonable. Highly recommended to anyone looking for top-notch service and comfort in one place!”

    Warm and attentive salon

“Such a lovely experience! I truly loved the treatment — it worked wonders for my hair and left it shiny and healthy. After trying many places here, this is the first salon where I left feeling this satisfied.

The team was incredibly kind and made a real effort to communicate with me, even though my English isn’t great. Special thanks to Joanne for taking such good care of me — she was amazing.

Highly recommended. I would come back a thousand times! 💛”

    4. Art-Noise

Address: 38A Lorong Mambong, Holland Village

    Phone: +65 6463 3651

    Business hours:

    • Monday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    • Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

    Website

If you’re after that specific Japanese “effortless” look, Art-Noise is easily one of the most reliable spots in Holland Village.

The first thing I noticed here is that it doesn’t have that loud, hectic salon vibe, which already makes the visit feel easygoing.

What I really appreciate is their “consultation-first” approach. The stylist spends a good amount of time studying how your hair naturally falls and asking about your daily routine before they even pick up a pair of shears.

Their stylists are Japanese-trained, and it shows in the way they handle precision cutting. They tend to focus on soft, wearable layers that grow out nicely, so you’re not stuck dealing with an awkward shape a few weeks later.

I also like that they use professional-grade Japanese products that prioritize hair health. Even after perms or colouring, your hair doesn’t end up feeling overly dry or damaged.

A lot of regulars seem to come back for their head spa treatments and low-damage rebonding. It’s a solid option if you want smoother, more manageable hair without losing too much of its natural movement.

The only real downside is scheduling. Because they’ve built a loyal following, the popular stylists and weekend slots get snapped up quickly. It’s worth booking in advance, especially if you’re planning something longer like colouring or rebonding.

    Pros

    • Specializes in effortless Japanese-style haircuts
    • Easygoing atmosphere
    • Thorough consultation
    • Japanese-trained stylists
    • Uses professional-grade Japanese hair products
    • Focus on hair health and low-damage treatments
    • Popular head spa and rebonding services

    Cons

    • Difficult to secure popular stylists and weekend slots

Helpful treatment service, friendly and attentive stylist

“Came after a bad result with a digital perm done in a Japanese Salon in Tokyo on 9 July. Got the Premium Aqua Rebonding – they helped straighten my hair completely while minimising any damage😭 life savers

My stylist was YUKA, she was so gentle and friendly! Great experience.”

    Relaxing and welcoming salon

“The salon has a relaxing atmosphere, and my stylist, Daisuke, is very friendly, so I always feel at ease getting my hair cut. The partial straightening treatment allows my wavy hair to grow in a natural shape, making daily styling much easier. I especially recommend this salon to anyone struggling with unruly hair.”

    5. RULER Japanese Hair Salon

    ruler-japanese-hair-salon-logo

    Address: 76 S Bridge Rd, #01-00

    Phone: +65 6532 2533

Business hours: Monday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM

    Website

I’ve always felt that the best part about RULER Japanese Hair Salon is how they treat hair cutting like a form of architecture rather than just a quick trim.

When I visited, it was clear their whole philosophy leans heavily into that Japanese sense of precision, where every snip feels deliberate instead of rushed.

The services list is pretty extensive too, covering everything from specialized acid perms to deep-cleaning head spa treatments.

What really stood out to me is how much they focus on technical mastery. Their Japanese “top stylists” handle complex rebonding and chemical work with a lot of care and caution, especially when hair is already damaged or sensitive.

It’s not just about the immediate look, either. The team seems just as focused on maintaining long-term hair integrity, which makes it easier to trust them with things like colour correction or texture changes without worrying about a total disaster.

The environment inside adds to that feeling. It’s quiet and a lot more personal.

I also like that you’re not constantly passed between assistants. The senior stylists stay hands-on from start to finish, which makes the whole process feel more consistent.

The only catch is that they really take their time. Don’t expect a quick in-and-out appointment. Sessions can run quite long because of the level of detail involved, so it’s best to clear your schedule if you’re planning a major transformation.

    Pros

    • Architectural, precision-based haircut philosophy
    • Wide range of services: acid perms, head spas, and more
    • Strong focus on technical mastery in chemical work
    • Prioritizes long-term hair health and integrity
    • Hands-on senior stylists
    • Quiet salon environment
    • Trusted for complex corrections and transformations
    • Deliberate, careful approach

    Cons

    • Time-insensitive sessions require advance planning

Attentive service, delivers detailed, precise work

“excellent experience! Salon is quite and not so much people. Stylists are mostly from Japan. They offer you drink list which is very considerate.

I did highlight and cut by Ms.Shiho. She is absolutely a top stylist in Singapore. Very easy going and communicate to. The whole process is gentle and relaxing. Save my dry and fizzy hair and it’s definitely beyond my expectations. I’ve noticed she is very focused on detail and perfection. Just prepare enough time for her and you won’t be disappointed! Ps. Also the best hair wash with her magic hands!”

Cozy and peaceful salon with skilled stylists

“Salon ambience was cosy and peaceful. My stylist Nixie did a fantastic job – I’m usually one to avoid layers due to the hassle of styling and they tend to look awkward when unstyled, but the layers she cut for me are so seamless they still look great even without styling!! With proper styling they look even better of course, im super happy with the result. Do look for her if you want a hairstyle with body but is also low-maintenance 🫶🏻”
