My friend recently got helix piercings on both ears and couldn’t stop raving about her experience at Ink by Finch. The staff were super professional and friendly, making sure she was happy with the placement and even giving tips on future earring choices.

She said there was hardly any pain—just a bit of pressure when they applied the helix ball. And the shop is very clean, so you know everything’s sterilised and hygienic for piercings and tattoos.

Pro-tip: The shop also offers piercing aftercare spray for S$16.

I finally got that navel piercing I’ve wanted since college at Rise Above Tattoo & Piercing, and two months in, it’s been smooth sailing. I was scared of the itchiness and possible infections, but there haven’t been any at all.

The pain was way less than I expected, and Jason, the piercer, was a pro. The process was swift and fuss-free. He guided me through everything from design to aftercare.

Pro-tip: Bring cash, as it’s the only payment option at the moment.

My best friend got his tongue pierced at the New Generation Collection, and the uncle was super patient and friendly. He checked for veins, answered all his (nervous) questions, and made the process quick and almost painless (or so my buddy claims).

The swelling went down in about a week, the placement looked great, and the long bar he gave for healing was a lifesaver! The piercer really knows what he’s doing.

Pro-tip: If the shutters are down but the lights are on, the owner might just be out for a bit. He’s usually running the shop solo.

I’d been eyeing a tragus (cartilage in front of the canal) piercing for ages, so I took my colleague’s advice and went to Primitive Arts to see Wendy. With a bit of pressure from the clamp and a quick pinch from the needle, it was over—no pain or weird cracking sound as some people say!

Wendy gave me solid aftercare tips and reminded me to come back in two weeks for a checkup. I appreciate this, as other piercing salons I’ve been to seem to consider things done as soon as they put down the piercing gun.

Pro-tip: Don’t hesitate to ask your piercer about the best placement for your ear shape and how to properly clean your piercing to prevent infection.

My ear-bedazzled friends can’t stop raving about Mantra Collective’s piercing services, and their gorgeous lobes and tragi speak for themselves. Despite the edgy vibes, the team offers warm hospitality and thoughtful guidance on jewellery and piercing options.

Sure, piercings can hurt, but at Mantra, they turn it into a fun, caring experience. The shop has everything from high-end gold pieces for the fancy folks to titanium options for those on a budget.

Pro-tip: Feeling nervous? Ask for breathing techniques and a plushy to hold. They’ll have your piercing done in seconds!

Though Bugis Tattoo is mainly a tattoo spot, they’ve earned a reputation among piercing fans too. I got my nose and helix done there, and I swear, no pain—just a bit of pressure from the needle.

The shop uses a numbing cold spray, which makes it a breeze. The young guy who did mine was super friendly and professional, which made the whole experience surprisingly chill.

Pro-tip: Take your pick: Bugis Tattoo offers a variety of piercings, including popular choices like nose, helix, tragus, lobe, septum, and cartilage.

Getting a little girl’s ears pierced can be nerve-wracking, but Stellar at VivoCity makes it quick and painless. My 4-year-old niece was handled by friendly, skilled piercers who made the experience fuss-free—and she loved her new earrings!

The shop’s clean, bright, and welcoming vibe, plus the use of high-quality materials, made all the difference. They issue piercing certificates for clients as well, so it’s a milestone in more ways than one.

Pro-tip: The staff can also help get old earrings unstuck from lobes.

My brother recently took the plunge at 8 Volts Tattoo for his long-desired rook piercing, and he couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we stepped in, the studio felt welcoming, with its laid-back vibe and friendly staff.

What I appreciated most was the attention to aftercare. The piercer gave me clear instructions and even shared a few pro tips to help with healing. Plus, the jewellery selection was on point with so many stylish pieces to choose from.

Pro-tip: Walk-ins are welcome but subject to piercers’ availability.

As a mobile service dedicated to ear piercing, CherisHeart is an ideal company for earring first-timers of all ages, from babies to grown-ups. My baby cousin’s ears were done at home, which made all the difference since kids are more relaxed in familiar surroundings.

Her ears healed beautifully thanks to the hygienic equipment and careful precautions. The piercer was precise and painless, even going the extra mile by giving out sweets and balloons to keep my cousin happy and entertained.

Pro-tip: Don’t forget to ask for your certificate of “pride” after the piercing session!

I haven’t yet tried any of its piercing services but must admit to being blown away by the variety of piercings Body-Decor offers, from ear piercings like conch, daith, and industrial to more unique options like bridge and anti-eyebrow piercings.

The studio also provides a high-grade titanium disposable gun for ear piercings, which is great for those looking for a quick and clean option. The staff were professional, and the sterilisation standards were top-notch, making the whole experience safe and comfortable.

My sister accidentally pulled out her nose stud and decided to get it fixed at Body-Decor Tattoo & Piercing. Nicol was both efficient and gentle, patiently answering all her questions and giving advice on just about anything.

She carefully removed my sister’s twisted stud with minimal pain. While I was there, I got a third lobe piercing which was so quick and almost painless that I thought it wasn’t done yet!

Pro-tip: Ask the piercer about jewellery that suits your anatomy.
