Turn your backyard into paradise with the best deck builders in Singapore
I’ve always wanted a chill outdoor spot at home, a place where the family can relax, makan together, or throw the occasional party. That dream started to feel real when I discovered decks.
They looked like the perfect way to turn a plain balcony into a proper hangout spot. Since it’s not cheap, I looked around for a builder I could trust. Lucky me, the one I found delivered sturdy deck boards and installed them neatly without fuss.
Now we’ve got a space we really enjoy, so I’m sharing the best deck builders in Singapore. And because the sun here can be harsh, I’m also sharing another list featuring the best awning installers in Singapore to keep things cool.
How much does it cost to build a deck in Singapore?
Building a deck in Singapore typically costs around $27 per square foot. The final price can vary depending on the size of your space, the type of material you choose, and how complicated the installation is.
1. Tulou

Deck options offered: Tuwood, Culture, Legacy, Premier, Prime+, Reserve, and more
Address: 183A Thomson Rd, Level 2 Goldhill Shopping Centre
Phone number: +65 9298 2323
Business hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (MON-SAT)
Since I was working with a tight budget, I’m glad I came across Tulou. Their focus is on composite timber, which I honestly found to be a smart choice since natural timber doesn’t always hold up well in Singapore’s humid climate.
Their WPC decking blends wood fibres with plastic, making it tougher against rot and termites, and the installation looks neat thanks to their invisible clip system. Pricing is fair, too, starting around $18 per square foot.
From my experience, we began with a free consultation. I ended up choosing one of their Tuwood ranges because it’s affordable, has anti-slip properties, and looks decent enough to pass off as real wood.
Installation went smoothly, and the 12-year warranty was a nice bonus.
That said, if you prefer natural wood, Tulou isn’t for you. I’ve also heard of some aftercare issues, so fingers crossed I don’t face that later.
Tulou offered reasonable quotes
“Highly recommended. Tulou offered reasonable quotes amongst several inquiries, Joe was prompt and professional at the site survey and thereafter, and the workmanship was excellent with attention to detail and comments addressed well.”

2. Calvary Carpentry

Deck options offered: Accoya timber, Dasso CTECH bamboo, Calvary Composite with EZ-Rail, OneWood, and more
Address: 66 Kampong Bugis, level 7
Phone number: +65 6684 4012
Business hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (MON-FRI)
Calvary Carpentry is one of the big players when it comes to deck building in Singapore. They’ve got a proper showroom at Kampung Bugis and a warehouse in Senoko, so not just some small shop.
What caught my eye is the range they carry. Accoya timber is their big name, super resistant to rot and termites. Dasso CTECH bamboo is another, fire-rated and tough against weather.
Then there’s their own Calvary Composite with EZ-Rail, which makes maintenance easier since panels can be removed.
They back their products with at least a 10-year warranty, which is reassuring. Plus, they use OSMO coating from Germany, so upkeep is less of a headache.
On the flip side, they don’t open on weekends, which is inconvenient, and some folks say they don’t reply to enquiries.
Excellent product and service!
“We got Calvary composite wood installed on our balcony. Excellent product and service! Highly recommended. Truly easily removable and replaceable planks IF it ever needs it. Sales and customer service was superb, fast and responsive. Heavy rain and no water went into the balcony at all. Totally satisfied customer.”

The quality of the work, attention to detail, and care you put into the project really exceeded my expectations. Thank you for transforming my balcony into such a cozy and inviting space—I genuinely appreciate your help. Even many months after the installation, Vanessa still provides tips on how to remove the decking for cleaning the space underneath!”

3. Nam Soon Decking

Deck options offered: Chengal timber, Merbau with Softline system, composite decking, T-Deck system, and more
Address: 7 Mandai Link, #03-28 Mandai Connection
Phone number: +65 6366 2031
Business hours: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (MON-SAT)
Nam Soon has been around since 1986, so they’re not some fly-by-night contractor. They started off in sawmilling and slowly moved into decking design and build, which explains why they’re very knowledgeable with timber.
From what I’ve seen, they offer a mix of options like Chengal for the traditional crowd, Merbau with their Softline system, and even composite for those who don’t want to fuss over maintenance.
Their T-Deck system is something they like to highlight, basically a neater installation method that makes upkeep easier.
I also found their group buy program pretty practical, especially for condo folks who want to save by ordering together. And if you already have a deck, Timber Medic+ is their maintenance service to keep things looking fresh.
Downsides are the price, since premium timber isn’t cheap, and the wait time if demand is high.
Nam Soon did great work for my home’s timber decking
“Nam Soon did great work for my home’s timber decking. Herman was outstanding in his explanations of what materials to use and efficiency in arranging everything. I would also like to thank Tun and Samar for handling the job smoothly and quickly despite the irregular weather.”

4. PolyDeck

Deck options offered: Polydeck PE Classic Mahogany, Classic Cedar, Classic Walnut, Classic Grey, and more
Address: 28 Tech Park Cres
Phone number: +65 6863 4567
Business hours:
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (MON-FRI)
8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (SAT)
PolyDeck has been around since 2007, and I checked them out because I was curious about composite timber options. They use a premium polypropylene-based composite timber that looks like wood but is built to handle our humid weather better.
Honestly, it feels like a good balance between style and practicality since you don’t have to fuss over maintenance the way you would with real timber.
But what stood out to me is their factory-direct pricing and the fact that they offer free consultations. That makes it easier to figure out what works for your balcony, patio, or poolside without feeling pressured.
The catch is their showcase area doesn’t have staff hanging around, so you need to make an appointment. Their focus on composite timber also means they’re not a good choice for folks who prefer natural timber.
Their decking is top notch
“We have had the chance to use polydeck a couple of times and can definitely say that their decking is top notch. From the excellent workmanship and affordable pricing to amazing customer service. The entire process was seamless and effortless. Waye in particular who has been assisting us with our home improvements have been of such great help! Not only is he responsive but will also make sure you are getting a product which best suits your needs!”

5. Hardscapes

Deck options offered: Wood plastic composite, reconstituted timber, Abodo timber, engineered timber, and more
Address: 15 Joan Rd
Phone number: +65 8053 7676
Business hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM (MON-FRI)
Hardscapes is one of those smaller decking companies that quietly does good work. After doing some research, I found that they place a strong focus on sustainability, which is a big plus if you prefer eco-friendly options.
They offer Abodo timber from New Zealand that’s thermally modified to reduce internal moisture, helping it last longer in our tropical climate. They also have reconstituted timber that’s durable thanks to the resin binding its fibres together.
It’s nice too that they provide WPC options made from recycled polymers and wood fibres, making them one of the more sustainable choices around.
Installation is straightforward since Hardscapes uses the FR Clip system, which gives a clean finish without visible screws.
However, they’re closed on weekends, and their project portfolio isn’t as extensive as some competitors’, so people who want to see more past work might hesitate.
Absolutely love our new composite decking!
“Absolutely love our new composite decking! It completely transformed our patio area. I don’t need to worry about splinters or yearly varnishing. And it’s super easy to clean. The team from HARDSCAPES was helpful, fast, and really took care with the details. Thank you Irene and team!”
