The Best Birthday Cakes in Singapore Making Celebrations Sweeter
I love birthdays, so it’s not a surprise that I always try to go all out with my celebrations. Sometimes, it’s treating myself and my loved ones to an extravagant birthday dinner, but other times, it’s a grand party at home, complete with a beautiful birthday cake.
Seeing a birthday cake that’s specifically decorated for me always puts a smile on my face. My smile gets even wider when the inside is delicious (I like my cakes rich and sweet, though subtle flavours work too). That’s when I know I’ve won in life!
Throughout the years, I’ve kept a list of all the birthday cakes I liked and where I got them. If you’d like to get an amazing cake for yourself or someone else, here are a few of my recommendations.
Happy Cake
– From: scurosg
Address: 7 Temasek Blvd, #12-07 Suntec Tower One
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—10 am to 9 pm
Contact Number: +6588182981
I know I said that I tend to prefer cakes that are decadently sweet, so it’s kind of a surprise that Happy Cake has made it to one of my favourite bakeries. Their cakes taste a lot less sweet than I’m used to, but they’re a favourite in my family!
Another thing that I love about this bakery is how creative its bakers are. I mean, they literally have cakes that light up!
My go-to birthday cake here is the Royal Purple Ombre Birthday Cake. I love the mix of white, light purple, and dark purple colours, and the cake is also topped with blueberry macarons. It’s such a pretty sight!
Pro Tip:
- If you buy from their website, you can score a free island-wide delivery when your order hits S$150 or more.

Cakeinspiration first caught my attention because of their pretty cakes. Then, I discovered that they offer a wide array of flavours (from classics like tiramisu to local delights like ondeh ondeh), and I knew this was a bakery for me.
I’m quite obsessed with their Midnight Mango Mousse Cake. It has an interesting texture combination (creamy because of the mousse and jelly from the mango jelly), and the sweet, fruity, and tangy flavours are also top-notch.
Surprisingly, this cake is pretty light, so I can consume several slices in one sitting.
Pro Tips:
- If you order from the website and the total exceeds S$200, you can score free delivery.
- Their cake selection is already great, but you can also build your own cake if you want!

– From: whyzee.sg
Address: 11 Sin Ming Road, Thomson V Two, #01-30

Whyzee’s cakes look like works of art! I end up taking so many pictures first before eating a slice. The cake decorators here definitely deserve all the praise.
My favourite cake to get is the triple dark chocolate fudge cake because it’s incredibly indulgent. The chocolate flavour is rich and distinct, and the cake itself is fudgey like a brownie, which I’m so obsessed with!
Pro Tip:
- You’ll be able to score a free delivery if your purchase from the website exceeds S$120.
Edith Patisserie
– From: edithpatisserie

One thing I love about Edith Patisserie is that they try to cater to people who want to get a cake but are living a healthy lifestyle. That’s why, in addition to their standard selection, they also offer options for gluten-free, sugar-free, and vegan-friendly cakes.
I’m a big fan of the cheesecakes, especially the blueberry cheesecake. The fruity and tangy burst from the fresh blueberries is a delight, and I love how smooth and creamy the cake base and how crunchy the crust is as well.

- You can enjoy free delivery if your order from the website exceeds S$150.
- You can order a fully customised cake here.

A friend described Cakebar as an artisan cake shop, and after having visited it, I can see why she thought that. The cakes and other pastries here are so cute and pretty that it’s almost a shame to eat them.
I’m obsessed with their osmanthus oolong cake. It’s super aromatic and smooth; the flavours are also delicate in their sweetness, and the longan fruit mixed in the cake adds a nice refreshing bite.
The cake is also decorated with handcrafted white chocolate flowers and other edible florals, so it looks whimsical!
Pro Tip:
- You’ll get free delivery if your order from the website is at least S$118.

I’ve been there for Creme Maison Bakery since its start in 2014. I also try my best to recommend this place to anyone who will listen because this bakery deserves more hype!
The Aria Vintage Ribbon Cake is one of my favourite cakes. It looks so romantic, with its heart shape and pastel colours.
For the flavour, I usually choose Nutella Brownies because I love how indulgently sweet it is, but Earl Grey Lavender is also a great choice. It’s subtle, and the tea flavour really shines through.
Pro Tip:
- Feel free to order a custom cake.
Delcie’s Desserts and Cakes

Another great cake shop to get your birthday cake if you have any dietary restrictions or are trying a healthy lifestyle is Delcie’s Desserts and Cakes.
This shop can create a cake that doesn’t have sugar, dairy, or nuts; they can even make it keto-friendly if you want. Oh, and this is a halal bakery, too!
The Blue Forest Cake is a must-try. I’m obsessed with how fluffy the sponge cake layers are. It’s like biting into a cloud! Vanilla is the standout flavour, and it’s complemented by the sweet and tart notes of the fresh blueberries.
Pro Tips:
- You can order a custom birthday cake here.
- If you order from the website and the total is over S$180, you can get free delivery.

Bob the Baker Boy has been a go-to bakery in my household for a long time now, and it’s not a surprise.
I usually order one of the longevity cakes because they feature auspicious symbols that are intricately designed.
I’m especially fond of the cake with the crane and shou tao. The pastel pink and white colours look so pretty, and the crane, cherry blossom trees, and coins are so expertly carved.
Pro Tip:
- If you order from the website before 11 am, you can enjoy same-day delivery. Also, if your order exceeds S$150, your delivery will be free of charge.

If you love a girly aesthetic—pastel colours, hearts, and ribbons—then you’ll love Honeypeachsg Bakery. This bakery also uses less sugar for its cakes, making them perfect for people looking to control their sugar intake.
I always get the Strawberry Classic Coquette Cake. It looks so chic and bold with its heart shape and pop of red from the ribbon decorations and fresh strawberries.
I love that I can choose the flavour of the cake; I usually stick to a simple strawberry shortcake, but I quite like the chocolate banana flavour as well.

Another great spot to get halal cakes in Singapore is The Frosted Chick. The cakes here are also creatively decorated, so you’ll be tempted to snap a lot of photos first before taking a bite.
The Speculoos Biscoff Cake is a personal favourite because it’s so decadent. The sponge cake is light and airy, and the filling and frosting perfectly capture the intense sweetness of Biscoff biscuits. There are some crushed cookies mixed in as well, giving a nice crunchy texture to every bite.

Operating Hours:
- Monday to Saturday—12:30 pm to 8:30 pm
- Sunday—12:30 pm to 4:30 pm

One thing that I love about Tings Bakery is that their cakes are not your typical birthday cakes. Sure, you can still get a simple cake here, but if you want something quirkier, you can get a piñata or money-pulling cake!
My favourite cake to get here is actually the one they call the Explosion Bomb Cake. As the name suggests, the cake is inside a “bomb,” and to access it, you have to light the fuse and have it “explode.” It makes me squeal no matter how many times I’ve seen it before!
Pro Tips:
- When you spend at least S$170 ordering from the website, you can enjoy free delivery (so long as you don’t live in Sentosa, Changi, or Tuas).
- Sometimes, this shop hosts baking and decorating classes as well.

Address: 199 Sims Ave
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday—11 am to 7 pm
- Saturday and Sunday—10 am to 7 pm
Contact Number: +6564409200
Temptations Cakes is aptly named because every time I buy a cake here, I’m tempted to eat it even before the celebration begins. They look so simple and stylish at the same time, and I already know the interior is moist and sweet perfection.
I can’t get enough of their signature chocolate mousse etoile. The cake has alternating layers of moist chocolate-flavoured sponge cake and velvety bittersweet chocolate mousse. Then the entire thing is smothered in a thick chocolate ganache and topped with crushed nuts. Every bite is decadence in a nutshell!
Pro Tips:
- You can order a customised cake if you want.
- This shop often has monthly specials, so be sure to stop by and see if any of the specials catch your eye.

– From: myfoodiegallerysg
Address: 2 Jalan Lokam, Bartley Rd, #01-47 Kensington Square
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—9 am to 6 pm
Contact Number: +6582288794
Are you a big fan of durian? Then, I have the best place for you: The Durian Bakery. This bakery has all sorts of durian-flavoured treats—from durian puffs to, of course, durian cakes.
You can’t go wrong with their signature Mao Shan Wang mille crepe cake. It’s so satisfying to cut through the cake and see all the layers of thin crepe and the luxurious durian filling in between. The flavour is not too sweet, and the durian flavour is distinct but not overwhelming.
Pro Tip:
- If your order from the website goes beyond S$100, you can enjoy free shipping. Same-day delivery is also available.
Simple Indulgence Patisserie
– From: simpleindulgencep
Address: 62 Somme Rd, #01-02 Parc Somme
Operating Hours:
- Saturday to Thursday—10 am to 5 pm
- Friday—10 am to 7 pm
Contact Number: +6581708263
Normally, I skip on chiffon cakes, but Simple Indulgence Patisserie has proven to me that they’re not as boring as I’d once thought. If anything, chiffon cakes are effective canvases in which a baker can experiment with different flavour combinations.
My favourite cake to get is the dark chocolate orange chiffon cake. I love how the fruity zestiness of the orange pairs well with the chocolate’s rich and bittersweet notes. The cake is also topped with candied oranges, which are so addictively chewy!
Pro Tip:
- If your order from the website exceeds S$220, you can enjoy free delivery. Also, keep in mind that you need to pre-order your cake two days in advance of your scheduled celebration.
Baker’s Brew
– From: bakersbrewstudio
Address: 246H Upper Thomson Rd
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday—11 am to 9 pm
Contact Number: +6564932246
I discovered Baker’s Brew when I was mindlessly scrolling through Instagram. When I saw that they had cakes that looked like origami (they had “pleats”), I was intrigued. I knew I had to try one of them ASAP!
I’m obsessed with the rum and raisin origami cake. The sponge cake base is light and luxurious, while the mousse is silky rich. The sweetness is intense, but it’s undercut by a bit of bitterness. There’s also a slight hint of rum flavour, which I like.
Pro Tip:
- Do you want to bake your own cake? You can learn the basics by booking one of their baking classes.
Butter Studio
– From: butterstudio
Address: 147 Jln Besar
Operating Hours:
- Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday—11 am to 8 pm
- Friday and Saturday—11 am to 9 pm
Contact Number: +6562947115
Butter Studio is mostly popular because of their cupcakes, but for me, their cakes deserve the spotlight. They usually serve classic flavours with a spin.
I’m currently in love with their Dubai chocolate pistachio cake. The cake layers are richly sweet, and in between them is a layer of thick pistachio cream with crunchy kunafa.
Pro Tips:
- If your order from the website exceeds S$150, you can enjoy free flexi-time delivery.
- Sometimes, this bakery hosts events like cake painting. Or you can host a party yourself with their help. Check this page for more information.
