Your Guide to Waka Waka Singapore’s (Controlled & Safe) Chaotic Fun!

If you have the kind of kids who climb the walls and furniture at home, bring them to Waka Waka. At least there, it’s actually encouraged, and everything is safely padded and supervised.

This playground at Annex@Furama is my go-to when I’m on duty as a babysitter. It’s got slides, rope courses, and a toddler zone that even my clingiest niece loves. Sounds fun? Read on!

What is Waka Waka Singapore?

Waka Waka is a huge safari-themed indoor playground located near Furama RiverFront. It’s designed for children aged 9 months to 12 years, and is packed with safe, age-appropriate play zones.

There’s a jungle gym, big slides, and climbing areas to keep them busy for hours. It’s fun for them, and as a tired aunt, I get to have an air-conditioned break (win-win!).

Things to See and Do

Climb, slide, and run around the Adventure Cove

– Media from wakawakasg

Location: Main play area

Unique feature: Obstacle zone

Best for ages: 4 years old and above (90 cm minimum height)

Adventure Cove is where my nephews turn into mini Tarzans, climbing, sliding, and zipping across rope bridges like they’re on a jungle mission. The wave slides are no joke either. I saw more than one kid go down, screaming with joy.

Everything’s padded, supervised, and cleverly laid out so even the shyest kids get into the action. It’s chaos, but the kind that builds coordination and wears them out just in time for lunch.

Pro-tip: Book a weekday slot for fewer kids, so your little ones will have more space and obstacles to conquer.

Let the little ones play at the Toddler Zone

– Media from wakawakasg

Location: Main play area (accessible upon entry and near the cafe)

Unique feature: Water bed/trampoline

Best for ages: 9 to 18 months old (below 90 cm height)

My shy niece finally let go of my leg when we got to the Toddler Zone, thanks to the soft blocks, bouncy mats, and a slide just her size. It’s fenced in, cushy, and filled with just enough excitement without overwhelming tiny explorers.

There are no rowdy big kids to cower from, either. It’s a safe place for waddlers discovering gravity and giggling at mirrors, and I find it the most peaceful corner in Waka Waka, too.

Pro-tip: Go early in the day so your toddler can get first dibs on the bouncy toys and slides.

Challenge the kids on the Ropes Adventure

– Media from wakawakasg

Location: Within the Adventure Cove area

Unique feature: Rope bridges

Best for ages: 4 years old and above (90 cm minimum height)

The Ropes Adventure area made my older nephews feel like ninjas, as they wobbled through rope bridges and tiptoed across beams with a mix of fear and flair. It’s high enough to thrill but safe enough that I didn’t have to chew my nails in anxiety.

They suit up with harnesses, and the staff double-checks everything. It gave me peace of mind as the newbie ninjas tackled the course like champs.

Pro-tip: Wear snug shoes with a good fit. Socks won’t cut it on the ropes.

Explore the Safari play area

– Media from church.abel.shelby

Location: Near the Toddler Zone

Unique feature: Multi-level jungle theme

Best for ages: 5 to 12 years old

The Safari play area invites kids to go on full jungle mode, jumping, climbing, riding or hugging the animal statues. It’s wild but it’s padded (phew!), and the obstacles keep them moving until they’re too tired to argue at dinner.

They especially love the motion-activated animal sounds that make them stop mid-crawl or run! It’s the kind of chaos I’ll welcome any day of the week.

Pro-tip: Grip socks are a must; the slides are fast, so they need traction on their soles.

Conquer the Volcano Slide

– Media from wakawakasg

Location: Within the main Safari play area

Unique feature: Volcano-shaped structure

Best for ages: 5 years old and above

My favourite niece calls the Volcano Slide “Mount Screamy” because he reckons it’s where brave little legs climb up like heroes and zoom down like meteors. It looks intense, but it’s all padded and kiddie-sized for maximum fun.

The ropes and grips give him just enough challenge to feel like a mini-explorer. For the five and fearless, this is their Mount Everest.

Pro-tip: Tell the kids to tuck in their elbows on the way down—less friction, more speed, bigger fun!

Participate in interactive learning activities

– Media from wakawakasg

Location: Varies within the 5th floor of Annex@Furama

Unique feature: Age-appropriate activities

Best for ages: Varies per event

Waka Waka goes beyond just playtime into educational territory. My toddler cousin spent a good chunk of time at the sensory wall, tapping lights and giggling at sounds.

It’s tucked into the Toddler Zone and is ideal for kids under 4 who love to explore with their hands. The centre also runs programs for slightly older kids with crafts, storytelling, and fitness games that sneak in learning while they’re having fun.

Pro-tip: Ask the staff about weekday enrichment lessons for fewer crowds and more hands-on time for your child.

Buy a souvenir at the gift shop

– Media from erdaally

Location: Near the entrance, adjacent to the bistro and lounge area

Unique feature: Toys and educational items

Best for ages: 9 months to 12 years old

The Waka Waka gift shop is a clever trap. We went in to “just look” and came out with a plush giraffe and a colouring book. It’s small, but stacked with kid-approved souvenirs that somehow end up in your shopping bag.

It’s right by the entrance and near the bistro, so there’s no escaping it on the way out. Just accept the fact that your play date will end with a mini shopping spree.

Pro-tip: Set a budget with the kids before entering the shop to avoid last-minute meltdowns (and to brush them up on their maths).

Dine and drink at the bistro and lounge area

– Media from wakawakasg

Location: Adjacent to the main play zones

Unique feature: Free WiFi and charging stations

Best for ages: All ages

While the kids burn off sugar, I’m parked at the Funky Monkey bistro with real coffee, fries, and free WiFi (child-minder perks, Waka Waka style!). The seating is comfy, and I can still see the volcano slide from my chair.

The area even has charging points, so my phone stays alive while I scroll, snack, and plot my next quiet auntie break. It’s my calm in the middle of a safari storm.

Pro-tip: Grab a seat next to the glass panels to get the best view of the play zones while sipping your coffee in peace.

Celebrate special occasions in the party rooms

– Media from wakawakasg

Location: Adjacent to main play zones

Unique feature: Bundled with personalised digital invitations, loot bags, and decorative backdrops

Best for ages: 9 months to 12 years old

We threw niece’s birthday bash at Waka Waka’s Yellow Room, and she still talks about it like it was her Royal Coronation. The safari backdrop, balloons, and sugar rush from the cake had all the kids in full jungle mode.

Booking was a breeze, too. You just pick a package, send out digital invites, and then show up with the birthday kid! The staff even handled clean-up, so all we had to do was carry home a tired but happy child (and some leftover cupcakes).

Pro-tip: Book at least a month in advance. Weekend party slots get filled up fast.
