A Guide to AIRZONE, a Playground in the Air!

There’s no shortage of indoor playgrounds in Singapore, so it’s easy for everything to blur together in my kids’ eyes. So, when there’s a playground that catches their attention, I instantly know about it because it’s all they keep talking about.

Their recent obsession is AIRZONE, located inside a shopping mall in Kallang. This playground stands out from the rest because it’s suspended in the air! Kids will be navigating climbing nets, going down big slides, and jumping into ball pits.

The best part about this playground is that it’s open to all ages! Here’s an in-depth guide if you and your child want to bond and play together here.

How to Get Here

By MRT: Take the North-East Line and alight at the Farrer Park MRT Station. Take Exit I and walk to the playground, which should only take you about five minutes.

By Bus: Ride any of the following buses: 21, 23, 64, 65, 66, 67, 125, 120, 139, 141, 147, 857, or NR6. Then, disembark at Bus Stop #07231, which is located before Tai Hoe Hotel, along Kitchener Road. You can also alight at Bus Stop #07211, which is located outside the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple.

By Car: City Square Mall has its own parking lot. You can access it via Serangoon Road, Kitchener Road, and Petain Road. The rates are S$2.18 for the first hour and then S$1.09 for every 30 minutes.

Admission Fee

General admission to AIRZONE costs S$27.90 (during off-peak season) and S$29.90 (peak season). The playground’s peak season is during school breaks and holidays.

You can also book multi-session passes here. Currently, here are your options:

  • Two-To-Play: S$55
    • Admission for two people in the same session
    • Only available to book via the website
    • Available on weekdays only (excluding public holidays and school holidays)
  • 4-Session Pass: S$100

  • 8-Session Pass: S$168
    • Eight tickets that can be used by anyone, anytime within one year from the date of purchase

Sometimes, the playground hosts special promotions for a limited time; these promos are mostly discounts and passes that let you enjoy playing all day.

These promos drop often, usually around certain holidays, so I recommend checking their website every now and then for news.

Other Important Information

Here are a few more things you need to know before coming to AIRZONE:

  • Keep in mind that every session is only an hour long. There will be a short debriefing session on safety tips, so playtime usually lasts around 45 minutes.
  • There’s no age restriction here; practically everyone can walk and climb the nets without assistance. That said, if the participant is below six years old, they need to have an adult companion.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing. I recommend a baggy T-shirt and long pants. You’ll also need to wear closed-toe shoes with socks.
  • Keep your belongings safe by booking one of the free lockers. Phone items, wrist watches, wallets, and other loose items are also not allowed to be brought up on the nets.

What to Do

Experience what it’s like to walk on the moon

– From: airzone_sg

When a friend recommended AIRZONE to me, she described the experience as something that was similar to moonwalking. Of course, I was intrigued!

When the time came for my first session, I was finally able to see why my friend thought that. The nets are incredibly elastic, so with every step, we sink and bounce. The sensation is almost like floating!

It’s kind of trippy at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes so much more fun. My kids and I love pretending to be astronauts landing on the moon for the first time. Next time, we just might come in wearing astronaut costumes!

Lie down on the net

– From: airzone_sg

I remember the first time I brought my kids here: they were so overwhelmed with the heights and the bouncy sensation on the nets that their legs just gave out, and they just lay down on the net.

I followed suit and realised that it was kind of fun. It’s like a giant hammock, and the rocking motion from the movement of other people is very soothing.

If you’re a daring soul—and a nosy one—you can also turn over and watch all the people below the net. Don’t do this if you’re scared of heights, though; the net is suspended up to five stories high, and seeing the ground just might make you queasy.

Jump into a ball pit

– From: airzone_sg

Navigating the massive net is already exciting and adrenaline-inducing enough, but AIRZONE takes it up a notch by introducing a ball pit as well.

The ball pit’s unique position mid-air makes for a memorable play experience. I love playing hide and seek here with my kids. You’d be surprised to know how hard it is to find someone who’s burrowed under a mountain of balls.

Ride a swing

– From: airzone_sg

Another feature that this playground has is a swing. It reminds me of the tire swing my parents used to hang from our backyard tree.

You can even fly off the swing and fall into the net. This isn’t for the faint of heart because for a second there, you’ll truly feel like you’re free-falling. But oh my goodness, it’s so exhilarating!

Go down the Big Slide

– From: airzone_sg

Once you’ve finished climbing all the nets and bridges, you’ll find yourself at the top, which only has one thing in store for you: the big slide. This is the only way for you to get back down.

It’s a thrilling experience. The playground and the mall interior just whip by you in a blur!

I like that the big slide isn’t too slippery, so the slide down won’t be so fast that you become nauseous with fear. It’s just enough to get your heart pumping.

Host a birthday

– From: airzone_sg

If you or your kid loves it at AIRZONE, you might consider hosting a birthday here. They already offer a birthday package, which includes goodie bags, Dasani water bottles, an exclusive gift for the birthday participant, and, of course, one hour of playtime.

Up to 10 guests are also included in this package, but you can add more people for a fixed price. AIRZONE also has several F&B partners, so you can book catering from them if you want more food and drinks for your special celebration.
