AXA Shield Premiums
With rising costs in healthcare in Singapore, relying purely on your MediShield Life coverage during emergencies may not be enough. You never know when illness will strike, so it’s important to always come prepared.
AXA is just one of several insurance companies where you can get an IP policy. Currently, there are 3 tiers to choose from at different price points and inclusions.
You pay premiums annually to retain your insurance policy with the company. The amount will depend on the insured individual’s age and circumstances.
To give you a rough idea of AXA’s Shield premiums, check out the table below. Note that premiums listed below cover individuals of ages from 1 to 100 years old and above.
Individuals aged 76 and above are subject to renewals only, though. For a precise cost, you’ll have to contact AXA for more information.

For instance, the clinic’s cardiac rehabilitation package can be covered by the shield plan’s post-hospitalisation treatment policy. This provides so much convenience to patients who plan on committing to this clinic from start to finish.
So for these reasons, it was very easy for our team to highlight this clinic as one of the finest choices on the island.
We also love that this clinic’s fairly accessible to all with 3 locations scattered around the CBD. Each clinic is even fully equipped with the latest tools and technology to ensure that patients get the most accurate diagnosis and treatment possible.

Skin problems are fairly common everywhere, not just in Singapore. Hence, no list of clinics is complete without talking about dermatology.
Whether you’re dealing with medical or cosmetic skin conditions, Dermatology & Surgery Clinic is an excellent option to go for. They have a network of clinics spread out across the CBD area.
That means they also have a relatively large number of dermatologists at your disposal. Each of their dermatologists has various sub-specialisations, covering all aspects of the skin including dermatosurgery, skin cancer management, aesthetic dermatology, and more.
This tells us that they try to give a corresponding solution for every skin problem there is. It’s quite appealing they also have paediatric dermatology services for newborns, children, and adolescents.
The lack of tele-consultation options is a minor drawback though, seeing that quite a few dermatology clinics in Singapore already offer this service. However, it’s still understandable since doctors would have to take a closer look at your skin to give you a more accurate diagnosis.
Just take note that cosmetic procedures aren’t covered by your policy plan. So if you decide to avail of any, you’ll have to pay for it out of your own pocket.
Pros
- Wide range of services and procedures
- Relatively large team of doctors
- Several clinics
- Ideal for children
Cons
- No list of other accepted insurance plans
- No tele-consultations available

If you’ve read our other recommendations for panel doctors, then you’ll find that Curie Oncology made it to our list again—and for good reason. This boutique oncology practice specialises in treating complex cancers.
This clinic is home to some of Singapore’s (if not Southeast Asia’s) most brilliant minds when it comes to cancer treatment. Each doctor has their own sub-specialty ranging from urologic cancers to gastrointestinal cancers.
However, we’ve noticed that this clinic’s expertise specifically lies in gynaecological cancers that affect ovaries, breasts, cervixes, and more. Take note of that if you need help with such conditions.
Now, what we really love about this clinic is their focus on research, just like the scientist where their name was inspired from. This is why you’ll find a comprehensive range of highly specialised testing and therapy services here.
In fact, you can also partake in the clinical trials their doctors are currently conducting, which you can read more about on their website.
This means that you can contribute to cancer research too. So, not only are you receiving therapy, but you’re also helping the scientific community find an effective cancer treatment for generations to come—if you choose to participate, that is.
There’s really not much to dislike about Curie Oncology. They have emergency services, tele-consultation options, plus they have several locations to boot.
